ok this is obviously off topic but i couldn't think of anywhere i could post this that it was likely i would get a reply,so if the mods could leave it up for a day or two i'd really appreciate it...

i just arrived in vegas yesterday and i'm playing the $1500 nlhe event and the main event
everything is going according to plan, with one exception-i had to leave my house for the airport earlier than anticipated, and so i didn't have time to bring over some irish tea,and i cant be playing the world series drinking whatever dodgy tea they'll have over here...
as far as i'm concerned this is pretty disasterous,so if anyone heading over before the main event brings over a box of barry's red label tea* i'll give them $50 for it
you can send me a pm here,or email me at robinlacey at gmail if you're going to be heading over...
    thanks in advance,
    robin

*barry's gold label or lyon's pyramids would be an acceptable substitute if it came to it,not barry's green label though, that stuff is raspy...

I don't know whether this should be stickied or if I should escalate the issue and ask one of the boards.ie admins to make a site-wide announcement!

For such an important and vital problem I will not lock or delete this thread.

When I was in vegas I was in a shop that sold the evening herald so getting a packet of barrys shouldn't be to difficult.

Ill know who to ask for teabags so. I didnt bother this year as its very hard to get kettles or milk over here - tea and creamer is horrible. Would suggest bringing a kettle.

    Red Lemonade...

It's true, you say 'red lemonade' in any other country and they look at you like ya have two heads :D THEY HAVEN'T LIVED!

Also Purple wrappered Cadburys Snacks (the type like club milks, but better) are essential, imo

Lyons tea is far superior. That's the biggest and most obvious mistake made in this thread.

Feck it, bring him over some 'Cavan Cola', I remember we would buy it as it was the cheapest softdrink available, though it tasted like sh1t, It would always leave you more room in your sweets budget for other items!

It's like the obsession people have in this country with potatoes. Christ lads we're not in the fúcking great famine anymore. Red lemonade, club milks and purple snacks ffs. There's much better refreshments and munchies out there. I remember someone handed me a pack of digestives recently after offering me some "biscuits". I looked at him in disbelief when I saw a the pack being passed my way.

ah but these ones take us back to our youths

Grannies always have a bottle of red lemonade, its industry standard.

Don't get mixed up on the club milk thing tho, personally I think they are poor substitute for the Cadbury's Purple Snack, though maybe I should run a poll on that, I've no idea what section in...

And the next person to offer me a packet of digestives will have them flung back at them in disgust. Be warned.

Agreed, gone are the days when you would fight your sibbling for the last digestive, now it gets a nose turned up to high heaven...

..with all your fancy biscuits like Toffeepops, Wagonwheels and the like (I'm no expert or I'd name more)

I'm more old-skool, I'll take the digestives thanks very much!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

Wagonwheels are the biscuit equivalent of a child molestor.

Agreed, to quote avid merrion 'I don't know what you are'

Wagon wheels, zero parts wagon, zero parts wheel, zero parts biscuit, wtf are these things, sometimes I think they were just discovered at the Roswelll Crash site.

Also, wtf is the deal with Hobnobs? You could lose your life eating one of them, they are so coarse, I think they are part sedimentary rock.
