    Great episode! What an ending!
When he shot Anna Lucia and then Libby, it seemed pretty clear that he was released to get Henry out....but did he shoot himself then?? WTF?

I doubt it very much, surely something has to come of the story with her in the Mental hospital? She got shot in the stomach, through whatever she was holding - perhaps it was metal or something? Although it would be brilliant if she did, you really would not know what to expect if they were starting up storylines and then just ending them randomly like that. It was a great episode

yeh he shot himself, to sell the story.

if henry got out and michael was unscaved and the two girls were shot dead the group (jack, kate, locke etc) would know there was something up.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,417 ✭✭✭Miguel_Sanchez

Reckon he shot himself so it would look like Henry had done it. Michael could stay on in the camp then if he has more stuff that the Others are making him do.

So has Michael turned to the 'others' side? Perhaps they will leave his son go in exchange for Michael getting their man back? So he had to get rid of Anna coz she would see him set Henry free. He shot Libby accidentally. Had to shoot himself to look like Henry escaped...

WHOA! Spectacular ending. Felt the episode was leading up to nothing for a while. But the ending has to be the best one this series! It was just a huge shock what happened. I dont think he killed himself, it look like he shot the flourescent bulb on the wall.

The backstory was very interesting. We got quite insight into Jack's dad. Interesting to see he had a child outside of wedlock. Felt his story dominated the flashback rather than Ana Lucia in ym opinion. But if Ana0Lucia's mom has the flight number, we definitely know someone from the outside world has the number of what flight a next of kin was on.
    DEFINITELY A 10!

Wow. After that episode all I could say was holy sh*t! How many episodes are left in the series? Two?

Bloody brill. 10 out of 10. I knew there must be something up with Michael because of his story, but I thought it was the trap the losties. Not expecting this. Did he shoot himself in the end? The shot looked like it would only hit his arm. When someone goes to shoot themselves it is usally in the head.

And Libby  Poor old Hurley. Might be better off anyway.

Surely a LAPD captain could raise such a fuss about a search party. Alot of the others had no other relatives or loved ones and the ones that did e.g. Boone, did not know exactly what flight they were on. My point being that if anyone had the determination and resources to orgainise a giant search, it would be Ana's mother.

    Roll on next week.

Is there no way to add a poll?? Feck...

Anyway, yeah, terrific ending. It didn't dawn on me that he had shot himself to make the story convincing, looking back it did look like he only shot himself in the shoulder region.

Also annoyed that the search function is down, would liked to have read the US discussion!

AL is dead. I reckopn Libby might live on in a coma for a while.

Michael is either drugged, brainwashed or under orders to get Henry out. Altho why he was so shocked to shoot Libby but not AL is an interesting point. Was AL "bad" and "Libby" good - just like "Locke" is good.
Looks like he is deffo trying to get them to march o the Others camp and get taken - altho if they can overpower that easily why they don;t just do it now is worth a debate. Maybe something stops them crossing the "line" to the other side of the island where the losties live.

Jacks dad is certainly an interesting guy and if Jack and Claire are half broher/sisters that would be an interesting spin.

Still dunno where this is going

Any one else think that Michael's mission was to kill AL and "Henry" as per the leaders instructions ie Henry said he was unforgiving. So now he willl finish off Henry if my theory is right

So why would he shoot himself in the arm?

I figured that was what was going to happen but why didn't he shoot Henry before he shot himself? I think he was under instructions from The Others to kill AL and free Henry.

Libby is the wild card really because if that really was a pool of wine surrounding her instead of blood then she might be alive and able to tell Jack and co that Michael shot AL...

No way - was that Claire? What a spin indeed! It definitely looked like Michael aimed sideways. Did I read somewhere that AL was written out because of a DUI conviction in real life?

Oh yeah you're right cos Hurley said if he got drunk enough he might remember where he knows her from. Guess it was blood after all...

That was the first thing I thought of when I seen it too.
    Was it not his chest?

I also thought he shot himself in the chest. Although if he was doin this to get Walt back why kill himself - was it just to save his son? I don't think Michael had turned to the "Others" as was suggested. You could see when he was talking to AL about them being "animals" the hatred he had for them, although maybe part of that was he knew what he was about to do for them.

Best episode I have seen yet(although I missed lockedown). The wow factor at the end was brilliant. Just did not see mass shootings on the cards.

Have to say that was probably the best episode of S2 so far, next to Lockdown.

Just wondering if anyone can confirm the person Jack's dad is fighting with in Sydney?

Does she have any link the the Losties?

    Regarding Michael.

Just tryin to work out if he was there to Kill AL ( retribution for her killing Goodwin) or just to free Henry and the killing was not pre-empted.

I also assume that he shot himself so as it appeared that he went in to kill henry and Micahel got overpowered and then shot and then Henry escapes.

    Questions, questions, question...

    but where are the answer..

Oh yeah you're right cos Hurley said if he got drunk enough he might remember where he knows her from. Guess it was blood after all...

And did you notice the look on Libby's face when Hurley said that to her? I think she knows very well where he knows her from. And yeah, she was only carrying blankets. She didn't have the wine with her.

I'm sure Michael shot himself in the shoulder to look like he was attached too. His intention certainly wasn't to kill himself. I think he shot Anna because she was there, rather than because she was one of the "bad" ones and he shot Libby because she came on him by suprise.

I'm wondering if Henry will leave the hatch though. If his leader is unforgiving, then will it even be safe for him out there?

    What the f*cking shocking ending?

Missed last week's episode so not really sure what I missed in the interval. This episode was pretty terrible up until the end. That's honestly the most shocked I've been at anything they've done.

I remember when Anna-Lucia shot Shannon in an earlier episode everyone was saying "It's a knife wound, it's a knife wound, she's still alive". I don't think Michael shot himself in the shoulder.

Freaky mind control for the win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,739 ✭✭✭Jello

    Great Episode! 9/10
I'd go along with the theory that someone said about Michael shooting Anna-Lucia and Libby (and himself) to free Henry and get his BOY (that they took right outta his hands!) back from the Others as a trade for Henry.

Some interesting stuff in the flashbacks, with Sawyer bumping into the car Ana-Lucia and Jack's Dad were in, presumably heading to when he and Jack's Dad met.
Also, the numbers were on top of the police cars in the car park in one of Ana-Lucia's flashbacks..

Great ending! I decided pretty much as soon as Michael woke, he was up to no good but I didn't see that coming. Who is the woman that Jack's dad went to see in Sydney? She looked familiar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,787 ✭✭✭prospect

    A solid 9/10 for me.

Hopefully AL is dead, God I HATE her.....

I doubt Libby is dead, not after the cliff hanger ending two weeks ago, with her as a patient in the Happy Home. Surely they wouldn;t have that, then ignore it the following week, and then kill her off!!

I don't think Michael killed himself, he would have shot himself in the head.

I reckon he is bargaining with the others, killing AL and freeing Henry. Libby was shot because she surprised him, and he shot himself in the shoulder to make it look like Henry did it.

Also, another few classic lines from Sawyer after he got it on with AL.
"Don't you want my number?" & "No chance of cuddles then?"

Henrys comment to Locke was interesting. Is he just winding him up, or was he really coming to get him?

Hes winding . Henrys mission was to kill anna lucia. Very obvious. "He said he could save her, but i knew he couldnt". She was marked as bad. The only thing i wonder is, when she couldnt kill henry was she then saved, and is death the way to salvation???."

Awesome, awesome episode :D Michael seemed a bit "off" throughout it so I knew something was up but never could I have seen that ending coming. Been running over different theories as to why he may have turned but nothing seems to make sense - for once, I'm completely stumped!

I've seen a few people theorising around the interweb that the daughter Christian was looking for was Claire yet they fail to back their theory up with any evidence beyond the fact that the woman Christian was talking to was blonde and in Australia. Seems a bit ludicrous to me! Anyone here got any real evidence to back up this theory?

What an amazing episode. I have to say the writing and directing in this ep was top class. The biggest shock ending i've seen in a long while. I would have never thought of it, i thought he said "Sorry" because he couldn't bring himself to kill Henry.

When Michael first came back and was talking about the others, it didn't seem believable. It didn't sound like he was telling the truth. But that is the advantage of hein-sight. Also if Michael's mission is to free henry (or kill him) how did the others know he was captured in the hatch. Maybe it was something henry did on the computer in lockdown that alerted the others to his whereabouts.

I don't believe what henry said about him being on a mission to get locke. We know that the others don't get caught if they don't want to. He's just playing Locke, i don't know what for yet tho.

If Micheal was told to tell the losties that the could take them, why are they trying to provoke them to fight. The others seem like hypocrits to me.

The whole thing of Micheal reminds me of what Danniel said in Season 1. "Watch your friends, watch them closely".

I'm a bit puzzled by these references to a connection between Jack and Clare. If I heard his father correctly he shouted at the blonde woman "I just want to get in touch with my son" which led me to belive it was Jack's ex-wife he was talking to. Anyone have a tape of the episode that can clarify this?

Great ending to an otherwise only average episode. Looked to me like "They took mah boy!" was only aiming for his arm, presumably to put the blame on Henry. AL was an intended victim, Libby an accidental one.

She's quite similar to Claire. Blonde curly hair and Australian. Could be a red herring but I wonder if that's what makes you think she is familiar.

Actress' name is Gabrielle Fitzpatrick and it's the first time we've seen her in Lost. She has guest starred in a couple of American shows such as 24 and Frasier and starred in the Power Rangers movie.

    Also ..

when Hurley approached Sayid about the radio, Sayid was digging a big hole.

A grave ? Did he know/suspect something ? Another LOST red herring ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,657 ✭✭✭trishw78

I don't think Sayid was digging a grave. It was too close to camp. I think it has something to do with what he has been building. If there was a poll I'd give the ep a 9 I was so confused at the end of that. I thought Jacks dad shouted I just want to see my daughter. I'm confused now

Just watched the episode there as I was out last night and missed it.
Great episode but I had the shock of AL and Liby being shot by Mike wrecked for me ages ago by a friend.

I did notice a small discrepancy though. In the scene where AL and Jacks dad are outside the Cocktail bar Jacks dad opens the door and it hits Sawyer, who has long hair. Now when he was on the Island didnt he start off with short hair?
