a) They are getting paid, nothing free or easy about it.
b) It is hardly promiscuous, most "stars" know well in advance who they will be "acting" with, and chances are they already know each other. That said, in the low budget stuff it's often just show up and **** whoever is there.

The same way as all girls ( i assume ) would think about being in total control of a man, the same applies for males.

To answer the OP's question, well, yeah. Of course there are comparisons, but it's purely the looks. I mean, there is one pr0n girl in particular that could be a clone of someone I used to know. But comparing their personalities or actions wouldn't even enter my mind.

To be completely honest, I don't actually like the look of most porn 'stars'. I'm not a fan of fake tits, deep tans, tacky tattoos and piercings, bleach blonde hair, too much make-up and low IQ's but maybe that's just me...

i have never compared my girl to a porn star because when i watch porn its not just about how good looking the porn star is its really more about the positions and performance of the porn star because thats what is interesting lets face facts if it was just two people having regular sex one top and the other on the bottom which i think is the usual common sex position (correct me if im wrong). to answer the question, a porno is like any other film in so far as it is just fantasy.
you watch a porno, knock one out and you're done. regardless of how good looking you find the people involved, it doesn't come close to actually being with someone and sharing the intimacy.
watched a porno once with an ex (her idea, and a lesbian scene too), but it didn't really do anything for me. after a few seconds it was just background noise and my focus was on her.

having said that, i do like a good porn flick at times and it has served me well over my single years.

I've never had a serious relatiosnship but I have liked people a lot\been somewhat involved with. For some reason i never think of those girls when watching porn, though wouldnt be surprised if I'm the exception, and if I was sleeping with one person it's not impossible I'd start doing it.
