You were quoting a sentence which was not really about music just apparent fame. I have heard people in work saying he is a gobshi-te, who have never even heard of the libertines. he is more famous for being a junkie his job for the simple reason that his drug of choice happens to be illegal.

It seems to me that it is the only way he can get publicity these days. After all, he isn't going to garner many column inches based on the musical prowess of Babyshambles.

In babyshambles terms ive seen him 3 times in dublin. He has also turned up for carlow, cork, derry and belfast, which makes 7 out of 8, but il allow you 7 out of 9 if we count the rescheduled tmbc gig. Backs up your quote well.

what annoys the **** out of me is why those who dont care even bother paying attention, its not as if it is forced down your throats. I do believe you had to click into this thread for example, and the countless other pete doherty threads in the past.

Believes his own hype? go listen to Kilamanjiro and the man who came to stay (i mean you probably have already to have forged an opinion) but listen to the lyrics this time. He is anythin but a man who believes his own hype.

Doesnt care about his fans? Most of his fans are in it for the music, which if he doesnt turn up for his gigs they still have, and a **** load of it was free.

Good point, I'm no fan, but some Libertines songs are good. Also the words to "What a waster" seem to fly in the face of his lifestyle. But I've seen people I know messed up by drugs, so things change.

I had a cold/bird flu for three days there, then took one Night and Day tablet last night, and now it's gone. So The Verve's claim that the drugs don't work is a big fat lie.

I'd offer my condolances, not a medal. But I'm judging them by seeing him play at the last brits awards. He was truly terrible.

My opinion of him was formed the day I saw him *murder* 'Children of the Revolution' at Live 8. Completely wasted with no respect for the song or the event and a voice so bad Elton John had to sing over him to try unsuccessfully to save the performance...

Amazed he's managed to stay out of prison til now. It really would be the best thing for him though. A 12 month sentence or so would probably add years to his life.
