It's already responsible for 28 girl's suspension in Alexandra College and it has become the new way to talk to people among college students (particualrly UCD and TCD).

I'm addicted, it's so much easier to use than myspace and it comes without the "i had another crap day today" blog BS.

    It's addictive,
No really at first it's addictive, then ya just kinda get over it. it is damn handy and fun for talking to people though and there are less posers than my space.
Bebo is basically a place where you set up an account and add friends by email you can blog, make polls, draw on white boards share photos etc. It's jsut handy for talkin to people and stuff.

It's only good if you have people on it you know. My whole year, all my mates in one of the societies I'm involved in, and some mates from IRC are all on it. So I've loads of time to waste doing pics/emails/quizes.

But otherwise its a load of tripe just like wasteofspace etc.

So its things that you can do with people who will likely be sitting in the same room as you face to face, but over the internet instead? Like asking questions, talking, describing, etc.

    Sounds useless.

*Sigh* If ya dont like it far enough, but how bout dont waste your time giving out! :)

Yeah but if you're not going to be face to face with them and want to tell a group of people the same thing at once, then it's very useful.

I don't have many irl friends that are on Myspace or Bebo or Xanga or any of those blog type chatty things... so it's carp to me...

What are you talking about. Bebo had nothing to do with the Alexandra thing. It was www.hateboard.com. And only 14 were suspended. 20 got detention...

I have been using a fair bit last week, has nothing to do with trying to kill time when I really study I swear, only problem with bebo it tends to break a lot and generally designed rather shabbily but good time killer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,010 ✭✭✭besty

Addictive it is. It's the bane of my life when trying to study. Still, a bit of fun

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,099 ✭✭✭muckwarrior

Joined it yesterday. A friend invited me.

Addictive alright! All my friends on msn have invited me. I have about 100 profiles, could spend hours looking through them all! You never know who you will find on it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,842 ✭✭✭steveland?

Seriously addictive... it's the reason I can't study...

Funnily enough I joined it when I got an email from someone to do their quiz and I was a bit drunk and thought what the hell... Few months after I get all these e-mails of people wanting to connect with me and now there's millions of people on my Friends list thingy...

Seems everyone I was in school with is on it too and practically all of DCU have an account...

Seems I missed the last day of school where they passed out the Bebo memberships...

yeah tis real good but does it take as long for everyone else to upload their photos, or is that just me!

I don't like Bebo. It's basically the more annoying southside traits in website form, and that gets on my nerves.

I'm on it, but I don't use it that much. Maybe it's just me, but it's very 'meh'.
Apart from the Jesus profile :v:

    Hey,
Does anybody know how to put up a flash thing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,210 ✭✭✭gaf1983

Bebo is a fine, if particularly pointless, internet service, and it is to be praised.

there are three ways of putting up a flash as your profile:

    #1
Enter the full URL for the SWF that you would like to display on your profile page.
    SWF URL

After clicking SAVE please be patient whilst we check that the URL is valid.

    #2
Find Flash on someones Profile and click 'Add To My Profile'

    or

    #3
View the charts and click 'Add To My Profile' next to any you like

Whats the difference between Bebo, Myspace and Facebook anyway?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭beanyb

It's more distracting than addictive. You can spend hours putting off what you're actually meant to be doing on it!
