New Dublin-Derry bus timetable from Monday 26 May.

I couldn't find it on Bus Eireann website but it was on the Translink website.

I would put money on the BE timetable being different, as BE will service Casteblayney.

    Further disruption to rail services
    Saturday, 24 May 2008 19:23

Train passengers are experiencing further disruption today because of an unofficial dispute by Cork-based train drivers.

In a statement, Iarnród Éireann says the dispute is causing significant disruption to services in the Cork and Kerry areas.

Some 22 trains on the Dublin to Cork and Kerry routes have been cancelled.

There are no train services running between Cork, Cobh, Mallow and Tralee. A bus service is operating in these areas.

Iarnród Éireann said that Galway and Westport line services would operate normally today.

Up to 20,000 passengers were affected by yesterday's disruption, as a row between Iarnród Éireann and Cork-based train drivers spread to the west of Ireland.

The stoppage began on Thursday after a Cork-based driver was taken off the payroll, after he refused to work his roster when asked to drive a train being used to instruct new recruits.

Other drivers then walked off the job in sympathy.

Iarnród Éireann says 30 trains between Dublin, Cork, Galway, Westport and Athlone were cancelled.

Cork commuter routes were also affected.

Shop stewards from the National Bus and Rail Workers Union submitted proposals to return to work.

However the company describes the offer as an unconditional return to work with conditions.

They say the drivers have already agreed and been paid for the duties asked of them.

Passengers are being advised to check the Iarnród Éireann website for full details of the affected services.

The following services Iarnród Éireann are cancelled:

Train drivers to return to work tomorrow
    Sunday, 25 May 2008 14:38

Train drivers in Cork, who have been staging unofficial industrial action since Thursday, say they will return to work tomorrow.

The decision follows a meeting of the drivers earlier today, at which they considered their position in relation to the action.

Following the meeting, the drivers issued a statement which reiterates support for their colleague who was removed from the payroll last Thursday for refusing to facilitate training by driving a different train.

In the statement, the drivers accuse the company of acting arbitrarily and of not invoking agreed company trade union procedures.

They also claim the company's approach was 'premeditated and designed to cause a dispute'.

But the drivers say that they have decided to return to work on the basis that continuing with their action would only serve to further discommode the travelling public.

They also say that on their return to work tomorrow, they will work in accordance with current agreements, including the agreed flexibilities proposed by the Labour Relations Commission in March.

    17 Intercity train services cancelled

Meanwhile disruption is continuing on Dublin-Cork, Dublin-Kerry and Cork regional train services as a result of unofficial work stoppages.

17 Intercity services, along with all services between Cork and Cobh, Cork and Mallow and Cork and Tralee have been cancelled today.

A limited service involving bus transfers is operating on the Dublin-Cork and Dublin-Tralee Intercity routes.

Full details are available on the Iarnród Éireann website.

LRC rail dispute talks under way
    Tuesday, 27 May 2008 20:58

Talks chaired by the Labour Relations Commission to try to end the unoffical strike, which has halted rail services in and out of Cork since last Thursday, are continuing this evening in Mallow.

Rail passengers experienced further disruption today on the sixth day of unofficial strike action by the train drivers.

The dispute centres on a disagreement between the company and Cork-based train drivers over training.

The disruptions began when a Cork-based driver refused to work his roster on Thursday after being asked to facilitate the instruction of new trainee drivers.

Irish Rail management and unions say an agreement on a resumption of services is possible.

But the company's insistance on train drivers signing a commitment to honour the terms of existing agreements remains a stumbling block.

The intervention of the Labour Relations Commission, with facilitator Tom Pomphrett holding separate meetings with Irish Rail unions and management, is the first outside attempt to resolve this dispute since the strike started last Thursday.

The primary focus of these talks is to get the drivers back to work and this session is not addressing the core issues of the dispute.

On their way into the talks, SIPTU and the NBRU insisted their drivers are available to return to work.

Pomphrett has been meeting separately with both sides since around three o'clock this afternoon and they have been considering their positions.

Passengers intending to travel should check Iarnród Éireann's website before embarking on their journey.

The company has estimated that up to yesterday, the unofficial strike had already cost it up to €2m.

It has also caused major chaos and inconvenience for thousands of passengers.
