The LCD is new btw... and worth about 150 on its own.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

    A 17" LCD isn't worth 150. 100 at best.

Also yeah it's a old machine now. With a bit of upgrading it'd be alright but as it is there, not worth more then about the 300....

I know mine won't be worth much but would like to know the current market value of it:

    AMD 64 2800+
    Abit KV8Pro 3rd eye
    768MB 3200DDR RAM
    Gainward 6800gt 256mb
    Creative SB X-Fi Gamer
    DVD Burner
    DVD Drive
    Crappy TV Card(Pinnacle PCTV Stereo)
    2x80GB SATA HD
Zalman coolers for cpu and g card
    Case
    17" CRT Monitor
    (thats it I think)
    Razor copperhead mouse
    Saitek gamer keyboard
    5.1 headphones
    wireless NIC

I was thinking around 400, do you think it could be more?
Is there somewhere that I could input these items to find out price besides googling each item?

EDIT: Just did a quick pricing on the parts that I would pay if I was tight

    40+40+50+100+40+30+10+50+20+20+10+40+20+20+20=510

50+50+50+80+70+20+10+10=340, but thats through the eyes if a tight person, so you could prob get 400 for it

    30+(??100??)+50+50+40+10+20+(??40??)+20=360

    so maybe 400.

The reason I put ?? is I suppose it depends if the XP and Office is legit

I'm going to be upgrading shortly, so will be looking to sell my old box, sans a few bits, as follows:

    Pentium 4 2.04Ghz processor
    1 GB RAM (2 x 512MB PC3200 CL2.5 modules)
Nvidia GeForce 6600GT AGP graphics card
    Creative DVD ROM drive
    3.5" floppy drive
Mini tower case with 300W PSU
Abit motherboard with Intel 8280x chipset and integrated Realtek NIC

What sort of money should I be looking for?

Also, how much more would it be worth if I sold it complete (Maxtor 80GB HDD, genuine WinXP Home SP2, Creative SB Live PCI card, NEC multi format DVD writer)?

    Hi,

Im looking for software to read the temperature sensors on the CPU (and the two temperature zones on the motherboard). The catch is, I need to log the temperatures:

    Something like:

    time CPU Z1 Z2
    10:00:00 45c 31c 31c
    10:00:01 45c 31c 31c
    10:00:02 48c 32c 35c

Ive tried Intel Desktop Utilities (closest to the what I need) but its not up to the job. I've also tried Motherboard Monitor.

    Can anyone recommend anything?

I reckon that'd be ~1800 new, so maybe €1400 tops if you're lucky, second hand buyers will need a good reason not to buy a new one.

    Dell Inspiron e1705

    CPU: Intel Centrino Duo, 1.83ghz/T2400
    RAM: 1GB
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce Go 7800
    HDD: 100GB
    DVD +- RW drive
    Battery: 9-cell
    OS: XP Pro
    Monitor: 17 inch Wide-screen WXGA+

Contains numerous software applications with licenses. Not sure if I should all of those or not

Great condition. Only cosmetic defect is the dark smudge from my palm below the keyboard. Also, the battery died a few months ago and I just ordered a new one. I don't think that will affect the value but just thought I mention it

I'm hoping to sell this for nearly enough to pick up a cheap iBook and Vista-ready desktop (or at least have it pay for most of this).

    Thanks

hi. i'm trying to find a home for a general-purpose laptop that i used at home for several years. it's not a gaming computer by any means, and i know it's not worth *lots* of money, but i'm still interested to know what i could get for it if i tried. forgive me if the list of its specs/components is more specific than necessary -- i thought better to err on the side of too much instead of too little information. thanks, -- amanda

    MS Windows XP Pro
    Intel Pentium (R) III - 700/550 MHz
    CPU speed - 700 MHz
    Level 2 Cache 256 MB
    System memory - 128 MB
    Video Memory - 32 MB
    video controller - ATI M4
Audio Controller - ESS Maestro 3
    20.0 GB IBM-DJSA-220 hard drive
ATI Mobility 128 AGP 4x display adapter
    LG DVD-ROM DRN8080B
    TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-C2402 / CD-RW drive
    hot-swappable floppy disk drive
Intel(r) 82801BA Bus Master IDE controller
Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 host controller
SMC IrCC - fast infrared port
    Lucent Win (dial-up) modem
    1394 network adapter
    FE575C-3COM 10/100 LAN CardBus-Fast Ethernet
    Texas Instruments PCI-4451 CardBus controller
    Intel(r) 82801BA/BAM USB Universal Host controller - 2442
new battery (4-ish hours unplugged working time)

ps. although it currently has win xp pro installed, i have not decided whether to include the disk for that OS for fear that i might need it myself at some point. i'm planning to include the OEM disk for the OS that came installed on the machine, windows ME (yeah, i know) as well as a copy of ubuntu linux. what value does that add,
and what if i also included a copy of win xp home edition?

Its probably worth more than that to be honest, You did realise its a laptop right! Pentium m is a laptop processor. If you are selling this i might know someone who is interested, pm me if you are.

EDIT: sebastianlieken, might of been a bit harsh on your qoute, but you definatly wont get more than 300 for it, even off an idiot!!
you could buy a better pc off dell for 499 including a 19" monitor , genuine windows, 160gb hard drive,1gb ram, 256mb graphics, amd x2 3600+ , 1 year warranty. Yours would have the obvious advantage of not being a boring old case(by the sounds of it)

    .

eh those this laptop have two cd drives?!

was probably very good back in the day. I dont think including windows xp would make a huge diffrence to price , so i wouldnt bother. bit less than €100 id say, its hard to say, it would be difficult to find a buyer for this, as its very old.

It has some really interesting features on it though, 4X displays is quite strange from a laptop!

You dont know to much about computers do you? Its agp x4. That does not mean it has 4 display outputs.

    Agp x4 is:

A 32-bit channel operating at 66 MHz quad pumped to an effective 266 MHz resulting in a maximum data rate of 1066 MB/s (1 GB/s); 1.5 V signaling
