I used to work in the food service industry, and I tell you the laws in place are as stringent as humanly possible, its just that the humans involed in some fast food places aren't.
Secondly, the size of your meal at that price is appaling, go eat in Govndas or Nude. Good filling natural foods. Why eat the c**p they serve in McD's? Its just not good for the old sod, all those persravives and chemicals.

Well, the idea behind fast food is that it's fast and convenient -- The fast food places are always loacted on the main streets (Grafton Street and O'Connel Street) and anywhere else they can fit them. I'd disagree that all logic points against it. According to Fast Food Nation, most people eat in fast food places just because it's convenient and not really because they actually want the food.

Having said that, the fast food I generally opt for is Subway Sandwich. Is it much better than McDonalds? Well, I'm not sure really, but I'd hope so. At least the chicken in Subway looks real...

There is a subway at the end of the pedestrian bit of grafton street- the Trinity side.

There are others but I can't think of where they are offhand

Hmmm odd, I heard the excact same story about supermacs where I live in KIlkenny. Thank god I work in a fairplay statoil..... their chicken is real chicken and I see it being cooked every morning... oh and it is damn nice in a burger/roll/sandwich...... etc.

On another note, that chicken may be real, but do you know what's been done to it before it got to you? Before it was cooked? Before it was supplied to you?

well, with MacD's anyway they cant use the power hose method they use with beef, as the bones are too brittle, so afaik they use centerfuge.
