I love Jazz, so it was just my cup of tea when I first saw it about 2 years ago. That was before I started playing. :)

The first time I watched it, it was a fine thriller with (in my opinion) a catchy soundtrack.

The first time I watched it after loosing my (poker) virginity it went from 6/10 to 11/10 in my estimation.

It wasn't that big a hit in the cinema, which is unusual with Ed Norton and John Malkovich in the cast. Ah well.

By the way Marq, you never answered my question, what is wrong with Cork? :)

No amount of Smilie Faces will bait me into answering that question.

I also love Jazz, still thought the soundtrack was appalling though.

I know I'm not Marq but I think the only problem with cork is that ye are living in the shadows of your beautiful neighbour, KERRY. :p

come on the kingdom !! :D

Yeah, they have just moved in there yesterday. It's near the back of the Metropole hotel. They don't have a phone line in there yet - which is annoying. Looking forward to seeing the new cardroom though.

Its up there with "Ghandi" and "Good Morning Vietnam" as the movies I could watch over and over again...

I recorded it off TV3 about 2 years ago and have handed it around to a group of friends. Its a bit worn and faded in places but it still absolutely kicks ass. An American guy I knew once told me that after watching it, him and his buddies would feel this overwhelming urge just to be dealt in.

    I know the feeling...

By the way, I won't be at the Macau tommorow night, work committments blah blah blah...

    Enjoy it :)

Yeah, it's a definate cult classic. Just bought the DVD on cdwow.ie.

Well I went down to the Macau tonight. Class!

Myself and my brother got to the final table, he finished 6th and I finished 3rd. I'll definitely be back there.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I asked a similar question on the Cork board, and was wondering that exact state of affairs with cork poker, and whether there were many tournaments going on in the city at the moment.

Sorry again for draggin up an old thread.

There are tournaments run 3/4 nights a week think wednesday is the most popular 20e with 10e rebuys, theres a 100 freezout one noght aswell, its a nice club but I was very pssed off that underraising was allowed they dont follow the rules too strictly but other than that its better than nothing

If there is someone from the Macau on the board or someone who can message them can you ask them to contact me (email address available by PM) or let me know how to contact them?

Oh and careca, if Kerry is so great, Feck Off Back To It! :p

    DeV.

Ive played in the macau a few times and theres a fairly sound bunch of players and staff there and the tournament are well run. Heres the number for the club but you'll probably have to ring after 6.

Does anyone know if the Macau runs any Sit n Go games. Am strapped for cash and the UCC weekly games are starting to get pretty tedious.

For anyone who's interested the UCC game is held each Monday night in the New college bar (Áras na Mac Léinn), €10 Sit n Go, usually 9-10 players per table, winner takes 80, second place takes 20. And you don't need to be a student.

Sorry if I have mistaken you for someone else but are you Iceman of VAR?

    Nope, that's me :)

Was looking about this forum cause i've recently taken an interest in getting to learn to play poker. Sounds rediculous I suppose, and considering i'm reading through random threads and not having much of a clue what's being said i'm having second thoughts about it now.

Monday nights, Bar Rumba on Tuckey Street.
€10 buy in tournie. Either 8:30pm or 9:30pm start.

Not sure which game, but if the organiser is who I think he is, then it'll probably be Hold'em.

Does anyone know if this is still going on and what time it starts?
