What comic are you reading at the moment.

Uno my Uno.

Reading Spider-Gwen and Ms. Marvel at the moment. Both Gwen and Kamala feel so different to the usual super heroes. Gwen is similar to many of the Peter Parkers we have met over the years in that she is filled with teenage angst but her approach to the "great responsibility" Is different enough to make it interesting again.

Kamala Khan is so Naive and earnest that she is kind of adorable, its great fun watching her character grow.

I also just finished Spider-Verse which I enjoyed but have to say I found a bit confusing in one or two parts, so many alternate universes.

And lastly I have just finished the 2014 run of She-Hulk, I loved the Artwork and really enjoyed the writing. I found it a strangely relaxing read for some reason, perhaps its because being super strong and super smart she is never really in peril!

Finally made the plunge to rejoin the world of monthly comic readers last week.:D

Pastaways #1 (CBR preview) I really enjoyed Matt Kindts work on Mind Mgmt (picked up trades) so had a good idea I'd enjoy this one.

Cluster #1 -3 (CBR preview) Only read #1 so far be was a fun read.

Southern Cross #1 (CBR preview) Good read. Bit of a slow burn to this I'm thinking.

Also got an issue of the new Thor run and an annual also.

Read through the mini-series Age of Ultron. Good read although the ending lacked the grand finale feeling.

Tempted to follow the path onto Avengers A.I. is that series worth a read?

If nothing else it's a short read, series didn't last terrible long.

To be honest I kinda felt cheated that they had Waid write the AofU 10.AU (the one-shot about Hank essentially that leads into Avengers A.I.) only not to keep Waid on the actual AI book

Is anyone reading the current run on Ant-Man? I was taken aback by how much fun it is. Really silly but loadsa fun. Four issues in and I'm defo gonna keep reading.

Accidentally put Convergence on my sub-list so I'm reading that; just the main title. It's okay so far. Not a lot of flare to it but it's decent. Have also subbed to All New Hawkeye but haven't started it yet. I really wish Fraction hadn't left; his run feels so unfinished. Partially because his run is totally unfinished but also cos he was doing really well and then it just kinda went nowhere when he obviously stopped caring. Boourns...

I burned through the entire run of Brian Azzarello's 100 Bullets - and the follow up 8-issue Brother Lono - over the last two days. Magnificent. The best I've read since The Unwritten.

Looking at my to read pile and it is beyond a joke, there's a hundred or so trades which I need to get through and I keep saying I'll buy no more till I make some head way but bloody Image and their cheap first trades makes it almost impossible to stick by that.

Samurai Jack 1: The Threads of Time - Continuation of the TV show insomuch as you can continue a show that reverts back to the status quo at the end of every episode. Does its darndest to be an episode in comic form - as licenced tie-ins should (for example, I think the Doctor Who suffer from not pretending they have a budget) - to the point that it switches up the art style for the fights. I do wish that it had the animation cel look without black outlines such as with the purdy covers.

The Planetary Omnibus - Planetary's Fantastic Four are still more optimistic than the grimdark movie trailers. Read it following this piece on Warren Ellis and superheroes (and the less than pleasant version of the Superman origin story led me to reading Birthright).

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 10 - War - It's... fine. Not why the decision was made for a miniseries to have Zayne Carrick away from the dynamic of the original ongoing issues.

Star Wars: The Old Republic 3: The Lost Suns - (Read vol. 2 first because it was the first story published on the Old Republic website.) Big fat meh. Perhaps I would have got more from it if I played the game. Lost Suns having a double meaning and

the ending of Theron Shan not revealing his identity to his Jedi mother

was kinda neat.

Fantastic Four 2: Original Sin - Not a complaint but the Original Sin tie-in seems to be all of one panel? Anyhoo, the road to sidelining the FF continues because apparently it's better for fans to only have the grimdark movie as an option rather provide any alternative. Until Incredibles 2 at least.

Took advantage of Marvel Unlimited's free month to catch up with series I was reading that went out of print or stopped being collected. TPB titles used just so it's easier for me to remember what I've read.

Incredible Hulk 8: Bad Things -

Figured the big bad would be The Leader.

Thought the final two-issue arc was going out on a whimper and the series got a bit too formulaic reading in quick succession but I really liked Bruce Jones' Hulk run. Holding off on Hulk worked nicely while it did seem to fall into a pattern of just having him surface at the end of an arc.

New X-Men: Childhood's End 1 - Re-read.

Deadpool/GLI Summer Fun Spectacular #1 - Like Deadpool, love the Great Lakes Avengers/X-Men/Champions/Initiative. Glad Squirrel Girl finally got her own series. Obviously there's no rush to add her to the MCU otherwise she'd solve everything. I know he's a parody character whose running gag

is that each variation of him dies

but Grasshopper's awesome. So is his costume and I want more from him.

Star Wars: Dark Empire - I finally got around to reading this. Just finished the series. Not great by any means but worth a read if you're a Star Wars fan I guess.

Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison. - Didn't have high hopes for this but really enjoying it. There are over 500 Star Wars comics on Marvel Unlimited now. Hopefully a few more as good as this one.

Also stuck into Saga, Sex Criminals, and Original Sin as TPBs.

Locke & Key Volume 1 - got this for free on Comixology a little while ago, really enjoying it so far.

Marvel Civil War - Noob to Marvel comics really, recent binging on the MCU has got me interested. Read Infinity Gauntlet this week and just could not enjoy the dated style of it, so looked up a full chronological reading list of Civil War and finding it much more enjoyable so far.

Haven't read any of convergence but it seemed entirely pointless to me from the very start, use some bizarre dues ex machina to throw a old of characters together and have them fight it out? Yawn.

Just finishing the Fletcher/Cameron/Tarr run on Batgirl, thought it would be a bit "young adult" at first but it has been great, really interested to read Their Black Canary later this year.

I picked up this series after reading your post, really enjoying the humour , you should check out the new run of Howard the Duck, it has a similar vibe to Ant-Man and is quite funny.

I finally got around to reading a few things both in print and on my tablet recently:

The Fade Out: Act One

Solid, quality stuff from Brubaker & Phillips, to the surprise of nobody. Phillips has a couple of new tricks up his artistic sleeve here and they're very effective. Hopefully this will continue on strong and not have the slight detour that detracted from overall narrative impact of Fatale.

C.O.W.L. Volume 1

Very pretty, as you'd expect from a Bill Sienkiewicz project, but I'm not entirely sure I'm interested in reading further. Thus far, it's been a sort of superheroes-as-government-service story with corruption and intrigue thrown in, and there's nothing wrong with it - it's just that it doesn't grab me, either. Probably more down to me not being in the mood for it, I think.

Minimum Wage Volume 1

Here we go. Funny semi-autobiographical stories about a mid-20s twit navigating a post-divorce social environment? Set in the mid-90s? With a protagonist who makes a living drawing porn comics? Yeah, this works for me.

God Hates Astronauts, Volume 1
Another one that didn't really work for me. There's a lot of raucous, rambuctious fun going on in here, and it's very much in the vein of horrible humour applied to superheroes -but it still felt very much like it was working in superhero storytelling mode, and so felt kind of limited to me.

I have just finished reading Justice League : Trinity War (which I bought at Free Comic Book Day ) I really enjoyed it!! I haven't found a huge amount of love for it online but the end had my jaw on the floor - luckily I had already went ahead and ordered the follow-up Forever Evil.

Probably a bit of a weird place to jump in to The New 52 but I feel like I understood most of it - just didn't know who some of the characters were...


The Pandora / Phantom Stranger parts were weak but it was great to have them in the collection (as I will never be a fella to buy each individual issues - too complicated!)

I will be looking to start some other volume 1s of the DC New 52 and am sure Batman is a good place to start.

I'm going to tackle Civil War soon myself.

Reading through a load of Astonishing Spider-Man (The Panini ones where they have 3 issues in one comic. Normally 2 of Amazing and one other story) that I won on ebay. Picked up right after Civil War in Brand New Day. Really enjoying them. The other story was Spider-man vs Wolverine with the story of Charlemagne which was very interesting too.

Also have Avengers, X-Men & FF in the same format. Was reading stories of Wolverine in the Red Room and one where the Hood had the infinity gauntlet - was a nice little lead up to watching Avengers - Age of Ultron last week

I think the main problem with AvX was that the X-Men generally suck! Spider-Verse was awesome though! I'm gonna read Secret Wars but probably only the main series. Tried to read all of Original Sin but so much of it was bad...

Picked up Secret Wars #1 today, think I'll jump on and read it as it's out. Have the first 16 issues of ASM/Spider-verse just sitting there to be read.

Initially pretty pissed off they're ending Earth-616 Universe and Unlimited (although I never really read much of them), will have to wait and see where they go with this....

Have bought and read the first 40 convergence tie-ins with maybe 12 or so being a good read, I have also read the first five issues so far of the main story and it's stupid so far, my local store didn't get me my variants for this week so I may abandon it for Secret Wars instead, issue one was very good.

I read Millar & Parlov's Starlight yesterday after finding it in my local library and was very impressed - I think the last time I read something by Millar that felt this genuine and uncynical was American Jesus (and even that had that line at the end to let the side down...). But this was just great - a wonderful European-influenced ligne claire sort of style with a few hints at being inspired by Moebius, and a story that was all the more powerful and affecting by not trying to cater to the baser instincts of 15 year old boys.
