Just swap out the black chain ring for the older one. Might to it with mine. Always liked the look of the older chainset.

^very small frame. "Normal" size must be closer to 5.5. Too heavy!

The photographer could surely have put a bit more effort into the backdrop.

In the case of gears and brakes, fewer is more.

Ooh... stewards' enquiry here I think.

Course I understand the distinction but here.... not sure it's correct.

Less brakes is more. I don't want fewer brakes. I want minimum front and back. So... two brakes. But I don't want ghastly, conspicuous clunky brakes, I want them streamlined, minimalist, pared to the bone.... "less". :pac:

    Anyway.

Fewer pedants and less pedantry maybe is the real point.

Well, on that subject (and on topic), I always wanted a set of EE Brakes.

I can't remember why, maybe just because they were really expensive. Or something about pad swapping being quick.

    Anyway, the looks are controversial....

Saw a road bike with new SRAM red hydraulic (rim) brakes on it last week. - Not so pretty. The hoods are massive, presumably to house the fluid reservoirs.

Agree with the previous generation SRAM red being generally a far prettier groupset - from derailleur to chainset.

    Saddle?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,255 ✭✭✭Kaisr Sose

big money bikes those feskta's , haven't seen one on irish roads yet. apparently a BAUM was shipped to an irish customer but i haven't seen that one out and about either.

Anyone know what sort of money for a BAUM frame? Super stylish!

    Saddle?

Angle makes it look much worse than it is. Slight forward rake which leaves it very comfortable. I think it was last setup for a downhill race so the saddle post was slammed and the nose tilted out of the way.

    I'll be adjusting the fit.

    eTap is so clean looking.

This needs 303s, I think, the 404s are just a little too deep for the frame.

Bidons too large, obvs, and needs a SISL2 chainset.

Also, is the seat clamp backwards?

Seat clamp on my caad is the same as that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,317 ✭✭✭✭Raam

Seat clamps backwards can help spread force on the seatpost so that it's not too focused on one spot where the slot normally is at the back.
