Though much of the beech frame of the Thonet Concept Bike is bent by hand, the final jointing and contours would be CNC-cut. A series of connectors and sprung rods have been designed to reinforce joints and stress areas in the frame. The fixed-wheel bike has a solid beech seat, carbon-fibre wheels and no brakes, and is available to order for £43,000.

    Go have a look here.

Check out the fancy anodizing on the cantis:

It's remarkable how light and stiff the thing is. It's taken me a while to realize that lightness is far more important for CX than road!

They've been selling the Adux in a steel frame for a while now, have they not?

    http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/frames-frames-audax-winter-ribble-winter-audax-525-frame/ribbfraw240

They've been selling the frame for years, it's the same geo as the Dolan Preffisio and the Ribble Audax/Winter Trainer 7005.

Maybe they will be adding it to the bike builder section or something becase right now you can only buy the frame, not a whole bike.

My fuji single speed, getting more use than the road bike these days, i used to record every little spin on strava but can't be arsed now, fun bike when the legs are up to it, cork is a bit on the hilly side.

Flicking through a little book in Easons the other day called 100 best bikes the Fuji feather made the cut.

Stamped with my Strava alias too;)

Apologies if this is too much, but I don't think the bedroom pics quite cut it, so here's a proper pic in the daylight and fresh air.

No more pics after this, I promise :D

Spec is thus: Cervelo R5, new sram red, 3T carbon bars, saddle is specialized (not sure if that's going to stay or not yet), ksrium slr wheels, dura ace pedals.... that's it really. No idea how it rides yet!

    Mad Max reference?

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

    @fat bloke
    That is absolutely beautiful!
Is that a Romin saddle you have?
They're a bitch to position but once you find the sweet spot they're very comfortable.
I think nose slightly down is best so it looks about right, do you find it uncomfortable?

Looks great Bloke! Are those seat stays as thin as they look!? Any decision on bottle cages!?

Looks like a bit of excess cable housing running to the rear brake at the front and the rd loop? Might just be the pics though.

The brake, I agree with, but Sram shifts better with a big loopy cable to the rear mech. Also, stunning bike!

I had to go up and check, but yes it's a Romin. I have hardly sat up on it to be honest, but a it seem to catch me on my ar$e bones in a way that previous saddles didn't. People have told me that these saddles are fab if you can get used to them. We'll see sure. I'm gettin a loan of some rollers so I can spend some time on the bike and get the fit bang on and try the saddle out while keeping it clean and swoppable with the shop.

Yeah, they're scary thin alright. Very similar on herself's R3 though and that's holding up fine! Bottle cages are gonna come from my Ridley, I bought them on here - piranha "red" carbon ones. Black with a red logo.
Those are the sexiest looking clinchers I've ever seen!

They are smashing aren't they? I'm delighted with them. I think they're gonna be the next big thing. A lot of the higher spec 4k plus canyons seem to be coming bundled with them for 2013. They sort of immediately make the standard silver clincher rim look a bit... last year or something. It's funny, it's not something I'd ever have noticed until I'd seen these on the bike myself.

Anyway, cheers for the compliments. I have to get my a$$ out on the road and get my legs in some sort of shape to match. :)

Shows if you wait long enough fashion comes around again :)

Campag strada all black aero clincher rims from the late 80's. Have a pair myself. Very sexy, though back then the black braking surface left much to be desired. Deathtrap time. Yer man running campag deltas as well must be near suicidal or hard as granite.:D
