Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So what kind of percentage charge will be on this?

Zero customs duty from what I can see.
But we would be liable for VAT 23% on the full order value and likely a customs processing charge from the courier. Between 10 and 15 at a guess

Now in reality of they are not processing the Irish VAT and have charged UK VAT they should refund that part.

I had 2 different orders one was €25 and €29 what am i liable to be charged please?

Between 15 and 20 Euro on each, depending on the courier fee.

I think they should (or I wish they would) refund the uk vat AND the courier handling fee as they hadn't told us that they are operating & shipping from outside of EU.

Call 0044 1582 422793 (press the key for sales I think). Speak to the chap there about that you wan to cancel an order but don't see the option on the website. He'll take care of it on his end.

The number is from the website by the way

Cheers used that number got through, they said send an email and your order number to cancel, just got my PayPal refund confirmation

One of my orders is €19.18 for two pens... hopefully this will pass through customs without charges...

I cancelled my other orders; thanks for re-posting the number above Hococop :)

I cancelled one order and left one in the hope that it slips through, if it doesn't I'll just not accept delivery.

Just noticed on their ‘shipping & delivery’ page there is the line, ‘We are currently unable to process any engraved orders’. So these orders might not be processed?

Although all other info on the page has not been updated since Christmas period because it still has Christmas dates etc.

With all the queries and cancellations - they'll probably just end up cancelling all orders destined for the ROI until they sort out their delivery advice...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,451 ✭✭✭blastman

What a sh!tshow!! My order was about €36, the system is totally fcuked up if I end up paying UK VAT, Irish VAT and a fee to RCB (Robbing Courier B@astards, new generic term for DHL, UPS, et al) for being over a random tiny allowance. I probably won't send it back (engraved so I'd lose out anyway) but fcuk the lot of 'em until they sort this b0llox out.....

(Sorry, I'll go to Ranting & Raving next time!)

You seem to be the first to received delivery, what were the overall fees?

He hasn't gotten delivery...he's just saying what additional fees he can expect to incur

I called the customer service to enquire about my order for c.100euro, and was told I should not get any additional charges, as I ordered from the ie website. The customer service rep did admit she was not 100% but said that if DHL seek additional charges to refuse it and that it would be returned to them and refunded to me... I'd like to keep the order as its an engraved gift but still a bit concerned I'd be charged extra!

    .

I’d take that info with a pinch of salt because there’s no IE website. Just cross.com

Yeah, I'd be very skeptical tbh
    I've popped them an e-mail to see, I haven't cancelled (3 orders!)
One large one may well get hit, but two small may make it through.
But if I get customs charges I'll likely refuse it if it's expensive, although I had a few gifts so I'll wait and see.

My worry would be refusing it and it not getting back to cross

    How do you stack coupons?
I only seem to be able to apply one at a time...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,106 ✭✭✭turbot

I have an unhealthy obsession (fetish I suppose) with nice and fancy pens. Anyway, got an email this morning from Cross, that they have an additional 55% of some of their already reduced OUTLET stock. Just use coupon NEWYEAR.

Some odd looking pens in there but a few nice plain ones too. Been out of work for 5 months and starting a new job on Monday so I treated myself to a new pen for €25 inc shipping.

    https://www.cross.com/cr_en_ie/

Mr Edge, thanks for sharing this...

I've also explored many interesting Pen's over the last year.

Some of my favourites have been:

    Platinum #3776 Ultra Fine
    TWBSI Eco Extra Fine
    Ohto Tasche Compact
    Pilot Elite

In general, Japanese Pens are made by craftsmen, whereas my experience of European Pens (especially Waterman) has been a mixed bag.

    Yeah, that's a bit of a concern.
I've asked for clarification in writing from them, will see how that works out.

Haven't heard of any of those but I've recently bought a Rocketbook notebook so can't use my regular ball points on that. It's cool for saving notes. It uses a Pilot Frixion pen, they're nice!

My order appeared as a pending transaction on my online banking but when I checked today it's no longer there, no idea if it has been cancelled or not, I got the initial email that confirmed the order received.

DHL are suspending all deliveries till next Wed so it looks like these will be delayed even further

Just so people don't miss out on the full value:

    55% off with NEWYEAR
a further 15% off when you sign up to the newsletter
    And a further 20% off with Xexec20

If you do all that, it's 71.2% off already discounted items. Thanks OP and everyone in between.

Excuse my ignorance but how do you stack the discounts? When i add another code to the box, it replaces the previous code entered. Thanks.

they appear to have locked down the use of multiple discount codes. It only accepts just the one now. Probably due to widespread abuse by unwholesome types such as reside on boards.ie

I did the same, actually set up and account as well so could keep an eye on the order but when I actually got to view order details I get this, so not sure what the hell is going on:

    Status: Fraud
    Order #: MB021053
    Items Ordered
    Items Ordered
Product Name SKU Price Qty Subtotal

Really odd, I wouldn't mind if it was some unique code they gave to certain groups of people but the NEWYEAR code was actually also on the homepage when you went on to the site.

"Fraud", is not really a very customer friendly term they are using, accusing you of something bad.

The system allowed stacking of codes. Hardly fraudulent for a consumer to then do it.
