Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've put in an order too, just to see what happens.

122.78 looked nice price for the laptop so ordered one too.

Just noticed text under the confirmed order :
*Why might the guide price be different to my final bill?
The guide price is based on today's prices instore. However as we shop for your order on the day you want it delivered, just as though you were shopping yourself, some of the prices may have changed.
Also your final bill can vary because:
    1. The guide price uses an estimated weight for weighed items like grapes and cheese. But what you pay will use the exact weight.
    2. If we have to substitute any item you'll be charged the price for the substitute instead.
    Kind Regards,
    Tesco.ie
Let's hope now they wont adjust my final bill like 499 or so prior the delivery  :)

4GB of ram nowadays with fully fledged Windows 10, even if it's SSD, let's say you want to open 2 tabs with news sites, the computer will feel slow. Those specs are from year 2012, and for that price, it's not a bargain per se

Show me more of 100eur laptops like these:) it is not the best choice of laptops, although it definitely is cheap

Its a non issue anyway, as none of these will exist.

Ordered the Fujitsu myself - if it comes, which I doubt it will, would be a good laptop for the parents I feel.

Not a chance they will honour it though...

Iv a 2009 laptop with a SSD running Win7 and it is very responsive. So if Win10 is slow just install 7.

    Just install any Linux distro.

Not complaining, but most of the people who might buy this will use it right out from the box, and won't bother.... they will complain that they bought a computer, and it's not working as they expect. And expectations differ for each one of us.

If it were me, I'd install Debian 8, any lightweight desktop, then forget about it all.

Gimmicks really. A variant of this is probably the best for terrestrial TV.

I hope you get it but....

Expect a call saying out of stock or similar excuse
    or
No call and to be told "laptops aren't eligible for home delivery and you shouldn't have been able to order it" when you call to enquire why your delivery didn't arrive.

Every single time. Those charges are automated. You'll get an out of stock call in the morning.

You have to wonder how they get away with calling 1366 x 768 HD, especially on a 15"

Don't get me started ... my ancient phone has higher resolution ... and a higher clock speed ... and the French were broadcasting TV with a vertical resolution of 737 lines system as far back as 1949 ...

But for the price it's OK.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,006 ✭✭✭xabi

I bought this for the kids last year when it was on offer, its the slowest computer I have ever worked with, terrible even for browsing the internet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 89 ✭✭wonka

got the call 30 mins before expected delivery. They don't stock laptops in the local tesco was the excuse. Ah well. worth a shot!!!

Apologies for posting off topic and bumping this thread again and no offence intended to the previous posters

But there is little point in bumping the thread to let us know you didn't get the laptop.

We need to just post the bargains which are becoming few and far between

Actually I prefer to see when bargain orders were cancelled, otherwise I'll think people got the item

This. Often hear staff discussing nabbing stock before they hit the floor.

Just in case anyone is interested in the 32" Philips in that offer, beware that although it states "Full HD" in the Tesco ad, it is not.

If you look up the model 32PHT4203/12, everywhere else, including Philips themselves give the resolution as 1366 x 768p.

Still a cheap tv for €169
I don’t even need another tv but it’s tempting at that price

True, but just wanted to avoid possibility of people being disappointed, having to return the TV etc., if they didn't realise, so pointed out the inaccuracy in advert for that reason.
