Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There is a new piece equipment in the park gym, it's hard for me now but something to aim for.

Walking back from the gym, I found £10, sadly for them none of the businesses close by had staff on their desks.

Ordered a basically a bucket blackberry bush last year from them. Its fantastic and still going strong. The amount of berries it produces is loco, but it does make a nice wine.

Blackberry wine is gorrrgeous! Th just thinking about it.
I had some blackberry brandy last summer, also yummy

I turned my phone camera on to take a photo of something but it was switched to selfie mode by mistake.
My surprised face in the screen.
First time in 2 years I looked like myself, and healthy. Ive had a few good weeks now and then when I gained weight but it always dropped off again. Was also suffering from dull stressed skin and dull eyes. Was causing loss of confidence. Very very pleased today. Feels like I've crested a hill Ive been schlepping up and sliding down on my face for 2 years.

I just came on here to read the posts, but now your post has made me happy. Well done you. :)

    It's my godson's first b'day today!!
His mam warned me not to go overboard on pressies as I've already got him loads....
    fair enough says Panda.
Only got his bday cake, his first Munster outfit, 3 bags of clothes, some toys and a "babybum" pushalong bus that plays "The wheels on the bus" for as long as the batteries hold out ....I'm safe from her wrath am I not? :D

TH watching a spider rapelling down his web rope towards me. They are such cool little leggy action heroes.

Apparently the descent rope or thread is called his dragline. I'm not sure it suits it.

Also TH, about 6 or 8 weeks ago it was dark at this time. Ive just come in from cutting daffodils for the house, in a patch of sunshine between gusts and rain. Still grand and bright.

My favorite are the jumping spiders.so tiny but so aggressive. Tarantulas are lovely but their fine hairs are an itching nightmare.

I'm smothered with a cold at the moment and cant take much as I'm growing a human, but TH my little dog - every time I sneeze she looks accusingly at me as if I have barked at her. People say dogs dont have expressions but this one definitely looks annoyed every time I "bark". She's so cute and funny :)

We've had Transition Year students on their work experience helping us in our classrooms these last two weeks. I would have taught all four when they were in Junior Infants 11 years ago and back then, three of them would have just arrived in Ireland with no English. It has been really lovely to see how wonderfully each is progressing and to chat with them about their hopes for the future.

I just love looking at my cat washing herself.
She's so precise and does it so languidly.
It's a little miracle that they instinctively know how to do it.

As a bit of a nature nut, I love to stand in the yard during the storm. It's riveting no idea why but it is. I often head to Ballybunion or out to a reclusive spot with my camera for a photo op.

Happy that I just managed to "walk" the 25 kg bag of coal. delivered last week, up the grassy drive, through the gate, up the concrete pathway and into the door before the next icy deluge struck.. ATTAGIRL! Made it by a few seconds!

    Nothing happier than overcoming problems...

Could hear both kids upstairs. It sounded like they were killing each other so I shout up to settle it down. Missie comes down and rubs my head explaining they're only " making a movie ". A murder/horror movie it sounds like !!

One of my best mates texted me last night asking me what I was doing on a night in March. Answered her back saying I wasn’t doing anything and asking why. She said she had a spare ticket for Lewis Capaldi and asked if I wanted to go with her :D:D

On a roll! The stick on my trusty mop snapped off. Overworked of course; only had it about ten years..;)

I realised I would have to buy a whole new mop and that will take time as I get all by mail order these days. The mop head is fine..

So I had a good look and the metal pole had rusted and eroded at the base.... I hammered it down to a new part, pushed it in and LO!

Cannot be without it as the ^^^ man who designed this place put pale yellow lino all through.... and in this climate.... Getting down on hands and knees is fine until I need to get up again!

    HAPPY day!

Honestly wouldn't live in any other climate in the world. This one is perfect for me!

I actually enjoy being out in the rain... not the heavy downpours, but the drizzle which we mostly get. It's nice, refreshing!

Finally getting to hug my OH late last night after a long and trying day being sick, feeling like the world is against me and being misunderstood by everyone, even a best friend. He doesn't even need to talk for me to feel instantly better. He is my sanctuary. :o

My TH is inspired by Widders "pet name" post (all lovely names Widders).

My TH is a bit pathetic but it did make me smile so I'll share it ...
I love the TV series Grace and Frankie. Grace is played by Jane Fonda and I love her character. She's funny, intelligent and stylish. Anyways, I was binge watching the latest season and in one episode, some fun was made out of Grace's husband's pet name for her ... it happens to be honeybear!!!!!

I told ye it was trivial

I lost my birth cert and replacing it would cost €20.
I knew it was somewhere in the house so I held tough on getting a replacement.
    It turned up today.

I went to the local garage for the paper this morning. In an attempt at small talk, I asked the young wan at the counter was she cold standing there. "No, just f**king bored". I burst out laughing at the world weariness of a teenager, mind she did laugh as well.

I’m not sure what it is, but I’m really liking how I look lately. I don’t know if it’s that my fringe that I was growing out is now long enough to put behind my ears so my hair looks like it has a shape to it, or if it’s that my skin looks good because I’ve been taking extra care of it or if it’s my body from the gym but whatever it it, I love it!

(None of that is meant as a brag by the way, just sometimes it’s good to have a bit of self-appreciation!)

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

TH saw a lady jump up and offer her seat to someone who needed extra help yesterday (to save them fighting through the clot of people crammed into the waiting room, searching for seats. I was at the far end of this crowd), and she asked her daughter to do the same.

Its not weird. It's a gorgeous temperate climate, it's just not consistent. Some summers were terrible washouts, but when we really get a fine, long summer from April to October, theres nowhere better to be than here. Imo.

Viewing the day ahead as I listen to the tide crunching rocks on the shore just behind my home... And the howling wind....

Cats fed.... made chicken noodle soup y'day and there is plenty left, oh and boiled a big potato in it so can have fried potatoes...

Shopping due over late afternoon weather permitting...

A sweet quiet day ahead..... my time is my own... at peace
