Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think he is having a ramp:) There is signs of blocking where is the question and will be on the wrong or right side of the block, No sign of anything over the next 2 weeks after that who knows what will happen.

Exactly. The ramp refers to a maybe possible sign of cold after about two weeks perhaps and with another maybe thrown in for luck. Meanwhile hold onto this message from our sponsors. :)

Longer range models are hinting at much colder weather to follow around the last days of the month into early December.

That's blocking for ya, it's over us in the winter and allows the rain in during the summer. We are just a few degrees too much in the middle, not good weather in the summer, no bad weather in the winter.

But that blocking does move and change occasionally.

Oh yes I would. People are stupid, plans are stupid, and thinking that people should not change their plans for snow, well that's just stupid, snow will endanger people and ruin their plans, snow is not known to be intelligent and deliberately attack people's plans, but people are known to be intelligent and read f**n weather forecasts and CHANGE their plans.

OMG. Did I just write that.

"Forecasters warn snow could bring Britain to a standstill"

Forecasters warn rain could make people wet

Forecasters warn sun could cause sunburn!

Forecasters warn fog could help you disappear

When Britain has 1cm of snow it sometimes brings their airports to a standstill. Here too

Id take all this snow forecast with a pinch of salt and then it wont bring the country to a standstill

I was driving an hour ago and it was 5c outside, winter tyres are for temps below 7c so might be ok, anyway might be better that the two bald and two nearly bald cheap Chinese summer tyres I was on.

At least it ain't the Ukrainian mail order brides this time. :(

January 2012 George Monbiot The Guardian.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/georgemonbiot/2012/jun/15/daily-express-weather-forecast-jonathan-powell
The Daily Express continues to suffer outbreaks of dodgy weather reporting

I forecast that nothing has changed since then.
Jonathan Powell generates headlines, the Express generates publicity for him, and its readers can be trusted to forget what he said the previous week, so what's not to like?Seeing into the future? The Daily Express won't even look into the past.

Please spare us the express, anything but that rag. :(

Easy now, I'll cancel my plans so I don't cause you further blizzards of rage :D

Go for it, as long as you have the room to store it, then having a sled is always better than not having one. It'll definitely snow again - can't be more precise with the timing though I'm afraid.

I have uncomfirmed reports of snow in Naas today. They were turning on the Christmas lights and a small snow shower started up. I can't tell if it is snow or someone on the roof making fake snow.

I understand that at the age of 15 you feel like you should be casting off childish things as you are all grow'd up now but give it a few years and you'll learn to love it again.

Woke up early this morning and behold, lot's of frost. Quite a lot considering we live on the shore. Puddles and buckets of water were frozen overnight

Recommendations for keeping warm in the snow.

Official release this morning from the Department of Environment in relation to adverse weather and in particular snow.

    1: Wrap up well
2: Wear sock or snow shoes
    3: Go to warm pub:
4: Stay there and send the wife this post.

    :)

If this came from the Department of Envoirment it must be legit, I'll go to the pub now and wait for the snow. Cheers for the heads-up :)

    UK MET OFFICE

UK Outlook for Friday 23 Nov 2012 to Sunday 2 Dec 2012:

Remaining unsettled as we head towards next weekend, with showers and occasional longer spells of rain affecting many parts of the UK, probably heaviest in the west. The best chance of some drier interludes towards the east. Often windy, with the risk of gales in exposed western parts. Generally fairly mild. There is a trend for conditions to become drier for many into next week, with rain becoming largely restricted to the far north and west. Temperatures returning to nearer normal or perhaps a little below, with the risk of overnight frosts. Towards the end of November and start of December, there is a good deal of uncertainty, but on balance, colder than average conditions are favoured, with an increased risk of frost and fog, and some wintry showers.

UK Outlook for Monday 3 Dec 2012 to Monday 17 Dec 2012:

As is usual, there are uncertainties in the forecast for this period. There are however, some signs of more settled conditions across much of the UK during the first part of December. So, although there are no strong indications of any particular weather type predominating, on balance, colder than average conditions are favoured, with an increased risk of frost and fog, as well as some wintry showers.

    MT forecast not so perfect!

'FURTHER OUTLOOK ... Rather mild and unsettled, models are backing off earlier concepts of colder weather or easterly winds, this complex sprawling low pressure may be stubborn to break down.'

Now looking like a cold end to November with snow and all...in Ireland even. :)

Showing on the medium range ECM 32 model now.

This was the model that first brought Hurricane Sandy to the US last month just as an aside.

The GFS model is toying with a blocking high slithering into place as early as next monday in the most recent model run. Lest one ask the yellow bit blocks the atlantic from the blue bit.

yep I think the end of November will see some snow in the North of Ireland and wintry showers over the rest.

But I think December will start dry and frosty.
