    Steak and ale pies are not intended to be shared. Doesn’t matter how big they are.

    From the pie eaters handbook, published in 1879:

    When one is consuming Ye Olde Tasty Crusted Meat & Ale Stewe, one should always be a fat bastard and declare merrily, “Aye,aye! I ate all the pie!”. At which time the congregation of peasants, uneducated as they are wont to be may bawl the response, “You fat bastard, you fat bastard! You ate all the pie!”. If one has mobility and a blunderbus, execute a peasant to remind the vermin that anyone insinuating a pie should be shared is a dead man walking.
