Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Heard it all today. Ray anchored the cruiser in the middle of lough Ree,had lunch and a few glasses of wine, then went swimming ;). Then to prove his stupidity, he announces it on national radio.

I thought he was totally against drink driving.

So if you are painting the correct picture, according to Ray you cant have a pint and drive home, but you can have a few glasses of wine, go swimming and then operate a boat.

Wasn't sure if I'd heard that correctly.

Even Michael Harding had to talk sense into him, God help us.

I can't imagine Ray being put in charge of a rowboat. Those cruisers are more likely piloted by employees of the company that owns them.

Ray still thinks they landed on the moon. Well shur I suppose he believed Zog was a planet for long enough.

In one piece Ray is giving out sh1t about the HSE. Then after the break he's doing a puff piece for one of their schemes. I suppose when there's childbirth and breastfeeding it's okay.

Would you laugh about the Muslims Katherine.

    Shameful broadcasting again from D'Arcy.

What's he at now? I turned off when he started on about crying when Shane Lowry won the open.

I've no problems sleeping at night Ray. I just playa repeat or your show and I'm gone in 5 minutes.

Yeah Ray of course, when did you record this?

Hmm.. seems to have a good many txts, too many to make up anyway - so must be live :)

Every time the interview gets any way light hearted, Ray has to bring up cancer again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,420 ✭✭✭✭sligojoek

Good man Ray. Stick on a song at 3.59 , then an ad break.

Just caught a few seconds of Ray saying that grease was "the most successful musical movie of all time". It's not even top 10.

This is why I can't stand him. No research whatsoever, just whatever he thinks.

Its number 15 but 13 of the ones above it are animations and you could argue about Charlie and the chocolate factory being called a musical so I'd say I'm with Darcy there (much as it pains me to say that)

Cancer every day so far this week?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,331 ✭✭✭jeremyj1968

    No let’s talk about it

Now I don't often say something like this but.......... ahem......

Ray did a good job of pushing her on that. He seemed to have a little trap set for her. "You said that you would not talk about your background until you had residency, so now you have residency, can you tell us about your background?". Which was a great question. But she was allowed to fooster around and allude to ficticious "legal" reason as to why she couldn't speak about it.

She's telling a cock and bull story, but I guess if there is any country that you will be rewarded for telling a cock and bull story it is Ireland. Interesting that it was Mark Tighe who uncovered this story, him of uncovering the story about John Delaney fame, yet he is not lauded for this work.

Why do all these Fair City actors tell stories about people coming up on the street thinking the characters are real? Are there really that many stupid people around? Or do they think we're stupid?

Re Bryan & Una today, they were very good neighbours to my cousin who died of MND, and whose cat I inherited. If she fell and couldn’t get up and Bryan was at the other end of the phone he would pop in and get her back onto her seated safely. All the neighbours in that enclave of wee houses were great, and in the end they all visited her in the hospice. It gave her a great boost introducing them when her other visitors might pop in and if they were Fair City fans.

From that article:"The broadcaster also admitted that he still gets nervous before JNLR (Joint National Listenership Research) survey results are announced.

He compared it to getting the "Leaving Cert results every three months".

He explained: “It’s just a survey, so people are cold called and asked if you would like to do a survey and their asked what did you listen to yesterday?’ that’s how it’s done."

Just curious but how many posters here have ever been phoned regarding Joint National Listenership Research??

I don't believe for a minute that it's anyway as random as Ray seems to suggest. From what I know of these survey companies they have a list of people who have answered questions in the past and they just phone down this list until they get enough answers. So you get the same people more or less answering time after time.
