Guys what pokemon are you supposed to be getting from completing the field research every week with the daily stamps? Is it not supposed to be legendaries

Iv got 4 Alolan Raichu in a row, why is that

That's correct, it's Raichu for September

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,193 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

Pokemon Sword and Shield direct at 2pm last time we got Galar Pokemon I'm hoping for Ponyta if it happens again, the monthly research box changes on Thursday at 9pm Shedinja is October one.

Why has it changed from a random legendary to the same one for a month? 4 Alolan Raichu aint much use to anyone!

Why has it changed from a random legendary to the same one for a month?

Because the vast majority of PoGo Players, especially those better described as PoGo payers, are incapable of catching a legendary in any reasonable number of throws, and get right sulky if they're not being handed "good" catches for free. For these folks (whose parents' credit cards pay the PoGo bill for us all) having 4 chances at an easy catch "rare" is a bare minimum.

Niantec / "The Pokemon Company" had to make a call between:
    - Losing crappy, but high-paying, players
    - making legendaries as easy to catch as a ratata
    - swapping in alternative "rare" pokemon for the guaranteed low-effort weekly catch.

Gameplay-wise it's not what I'd have done, but business-wise it was probably the best of a bad set of options.

It wasn't open but you could reach the spawn area from outside the park

It's very rarely a legendary pokemon, most of the time it's something you'd been able to catch in the wild but might be rare etc.

I knew it would happen eventually, but losing some of the benefits we had is a shame.

I just wished I hadn't topped up on Incense yesterday. Almost useless to me now.

I was certainly in that boat in 2017 when they were ultra rare in the wild and only in 10km eggs , I waited months to hatch one which was more frustrating when i had 2 evolutions ahead of me too , i eventually hatched one and walked it for the summer ! , I knew back then there would be a day when I would be surrounded by sheep which did happen with its community day !
Bit frustrating that they didnt include a fire type in the spawns for event , im only 50% on that task at the moment in Victini special research

I got lucky with that one, was getting a bunch of Torchic and Chimchar spawning out my way, the psychic types ended up taking me a bit longer to finish.

That was probably me. :o Took me ages to get one when they only came from eggs. Now the feckers are everywhere but I still haven't found a shiny.

Hahaha got a shiny cricket on the way home chuffed with that

I got a shiny Moltres from a remote raid in Japan, which was quite cool. IV's were a bit rubbish but still.

I seem to have luck with remote legendary raids - I now have a shiny Origin Forme Giratina from the USA! :D

I have both shiny Giratinas now. My Altered Forme has better IV's though (15/15/14 - so close to the holy grail of a shiny legendary 'hundo')

Also managed to recently get a shiny bowtie Smoochum and tonight I hatched a 100% Dwebble.

Not me, think I've caught more Meowth's than all other pokemon combined through this research

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,083 ✭✭✭rustledjimmies

I thought those Meowth research tasks would never end but it seems I've done them all now with only 2 shinies to show for it.

    ONLY 2?

I did the whole lot of them and didn't get a single shiny. :(

Got 2 alolan shiny myself really wanted a kanto

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Eduard Khil

Ran out of berries took me ages to get more from pokestops. I really need to stop throwing them away.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Music Moderators, Regional Midlands Moderators Posts: 24,126 Mod ✭✭✭✭Angron

Managed to get a shiny Giratina which was nice, IVs weren't great so it's probably gonna end up being a lucky swap at some point.

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Eduard Khil

Haven't seen vulpix all day server has gone haywire in Finglas area I got kicked from a raid earlier unfortunately the group wS a last minute one and the raid had expired by the time I got back in so one remote raid down without me they lost the raid too as I was the only over 30 level player.

Nice. Mandibuzz is one of my favourite Gen 5 Pokémon. :D And the Sandile line is pretty cool too.

Big fan of Pawniard and Bisharp myself. Unfortunately Trubbish is in that egg pool too, I dread getting those out of the eggs.

12k is down to 2k with a super incubator

1/4 distance plus the super incubator reduction.

    I saw that earlier, mental!

I have one of them I might go catching a few pikachus at 6 and walk it, but you can be sure mine will be absol or trubbish or something :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Eduard Khil

Uggggghhhh Trubish from my first 12k

    Wwwwwwoooooooohooooo Pawniard from my second

  • Moderators Posts: 3,554 ✭✭✭Wise Old Elf

First one was an 85% larvitar :(
Just waiting for a 9pm balloon to get the second one.

3 strange eggs hatched, a mixed bag so far.

    First one was Absol. :(
    Second one was Pawniard. :D
Third one was Scraggy, which I actually didn't mind as it gave me the last candies I needed for Scrafty. :) Don't particularly want another one though.

Had a good community day, got 25 Charmander and a shiny shadow Growlithe.

With the strange eggs, still need a Sandile out of the new Pokémon.

Sandile looks ultra rare unfortunately , possibly <5% of eggs , I have hatched 13 red eggs across 2 accounts and waiting on that one too , not sure I will bother much longer esp with end of event and egg hatch distance restored.
Im sure we will see them released in a more accessible form in a few months.

  • Registered Users Posts: 796 ✭✭✭Eduard Khil

Absolute zero Shadow Vupix my first 0-0-0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,376 ✭✭✭✭phog

I've done about 12 Red eggs at this stage, One Sandile, 2 Vullaby and 3 Pawniard the rest were Absol or Trubbish, luckily I got 3 new ones from my first few eggs and thankfully we have reduced walking distance atm, I'm not sure I'll do red eggs when they go full distance just to pick up a Trubbish or Absol.

  • Moderators Posts: 3,554 ✭✭✭Wise Old Elf

Almost everything I've got from 12k eggs has been 2 star, or barely 3 star, but I did hatch a Pawniard and a Sandile, no Vullaby yet though. One on at the moment on reduced distance.
I'm on android and adventure sync just stopped on version 0.189. I rolled back to 0.187 but an update just got forced anyway :/

So, two Community Days next month, one for Electabuzz and one for Magmar. Don't have any of the Electabuzz line as a shiny, so more excited for that one.

1/4:egg distance and Elekid and Magby hatching from 2k eggs on their respective days.

I'm not too mad on getting a shiney I just need more so I can evolve mine :D

Side note I did a Darkrai raid and managed to get a shiney!

Also got to evolve my far fetched to sirfetched and have my unicorn ponyta and rapidash which I'm delighted about.

Has anyone used the charged attach TM I have a few of them and not too sure what to do. One side of me is afraid I'll just get an attack worse that what I had initially.

They will randomly change into one of the other charged attacks the pokemon can have, be ready to burn through 5+ if unlucky.

I think the worst I had was ages back trying to get an Alakazam with Future Sight. Fecking thing kept flipping between Dazzling Gleam and Focus Blast, I think I ended up using about 10.

    Yeah, it very frustrating.
But as I don't do PvP it's not really that big an issue for me.
