Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dublin 2, Grand Canal Dock. Not bad here yet, some light rain and a bit of wind.

Above was at 10am. Now it's quite blustery and raining heavily enough. A good kick out of him now! It's lovely and fresh.

Sounds like Leinster is getting decent Atlantic type winds, glad to share it around with ye! Not too windy in North Clare currently, a shocking amount of rainfall since early this morning though. Flooding will be inevitable.

You're right it's, not too windy attal here.
Usually we get a right hammering

Going by GFS the mean speeds for North Clare will be pretty high but the gusts won't be as high as last weekend. Like last week though, the event is going to be a prolonged one.

It is still soaking in out here and then flows to the nearby ocean. Soon there will be two small "lakes" at each end of the path where the raised concrete ends. No danger yet.

Seeing now that flights are being cancelled in Dublin Airport.

We are due to fly out if Dublin to Edinburgh on Tuesday morning at half 6 in the morning.

Should we be concerned or should it be dying off at that stage?

    Thanks

Extremly windy atm with gusts which can be felt in the house. North Cork.

Flights from the US to Heathrow arriving on average 1 hour ahead of schedule from a quick look at a number of flight info websites

Cork Airport - planes arriving and departing

Even on a normal day, the early morning TATL arrivals can be an hour early! So much slack built into the schedule.

Dublin airport facing delays due to the use of RWY16, aircraft not having much trouble landing or taking off though.

    Ah here, read the forecast!

A storm does not last 4 days, and cancellations on a Saturday don't affect your flight on a Tuesday.

Was watching to see flight speeds. Some flights getting near maximum speed recorded last week . Jet stream helps!

20mm now here near Tralee. light to moderate rain atm, winds have eased to a 10 min avg of 23 km/h

Road conditions bad around Tralee, lots of small floods and water pouring out of fields. Saw a couple of manhole covers damaged where the water burst up.

EDIT: a heavy burst of rain again.

Was watching some of the activity around 16 earlier and it was most impressive. An Air Canada A330 to YYZ took off with truly spectacular rocking and rolling.

An incoming Stobart got my outstanding airmanship award for its almost perpendicular approach and graceful landing. I'm raging I didn't film that one

Busy couple of days ahead for ESB network crews. Incident reports totting up in Munster/South Leinster.

Are we becoming apathetic to weather warnings?

Yep. Days like this in Dublin we would of played soccer in it and cycle to school.

The warning system will become ineffective after awhile.
    Not Met fault though

Dennis was 925 hPa at 12Z today, 3 hPa higher and around 1 degree latitude (~110 km) further north than forecast yesterday. Unlikely to get below 920 hPa now, much to the discontent of the headline-writers.
