Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone have any insights? I see it's more or less at record low now...

Avoiding like the plague. Hurt me enough. Crypto still generally performing well, so will stick to the real deal moving forward. Lesson learned the hard way. All managements fault.

Reckon it was a bit of a scam? Were we the suckers?

Not sure of scam but we were suckers anyway, the board getting paid big bucks while we lose out sh1t. Only entered in the first place because I was hesitant of holding my own crypto but since I've educated myself a bit more I have massive regrets now that I didn't get out sooner.

Mind you I think I sold most at 0.75 so could have been an awful lot worse!

There are no scams in crypto lads 😂
I got lambasted for ever suggesting such a wildly crazy idea.

Decent results today, cash flow positive.

    Won't be rushing in though.

Earnings call sounded good. Could take a big leg up if I wasn't holding I'd be buying. Profit sounded small but when you take into account it's been mining at full steam in Q2 as opposed to only 10% capacity in Q1 the current share price will look like a steal come those results.

    Unbelievable.

First buy was at 3.20 or so.

So I bought a bunch of these ages ago and never copped on to sell at the right time. At this stage are the shares toilet paper or is there even a smidgen of a chance that this setup has future prospects?

Bitcoin is back in bull mode. A lot of money to be made here just not for some of us stuck way off the current price yet.

Your in the money now. Just set a stop loss in the green this time. My fatal mistake. I'm still hanging in for $5 and the Porsche.

It's been on a rip, yesterday was a good signal going up on a down day for bitcoin.

What's causing it though? This stock is more opaque than a Sinn Féin Árd Comhairle.

    Reduced operational costs causing pump.

No worry with third party factors like that when buying BTC or ETH.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,330 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

It was a run before they announced the operational costs reduction. Up 15% again and it's only opened.

Haven't checked this thread in ages.

Up 278% in the past month! Hope some lucky punters got in at the bottom

Hi, any news sources I can check out? Worth throwing €100 back in I wonder to dip toe? Or better off flushing it down toilet like I effectively did last time, except in multiples of 100!?

If it was me I'd buy Bitcoin instead with that €100. Likely worth €1000 within 24 months.

Only way to make it back is sell up and put it back in Bitcoin.

Took me a long time to make back the €6k I lost on this turd!

You reckon? down about 44% on this Hive dogsh1t

I'm hanging in there, it's overdue a good leg up, Bitcoin has been pretty stable.
Not sure why they decided to delay financials, when's Ether moving to proof of stake?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,502 ✭✭✭q85dw7osi4lebg

My problem with it is they are offering exposure by being miners, but have a lot more risks than just holding the crypto itself.

As we found out with Marco etc.

I’ve recouped far more than I lost by just getting stuck into Bitcoin itself.

I will admit the majority of their emails are positive lately which is unusual !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,793 ✭✭✭g0g

Anyone else still have any of these. I still have a bunch so left them sit there, but a random check today and it's up a bit recently. Am I mad to hope for CAD 1.30 someday!?

The last time Bitcoin was at its current price this was $3.40. Make of that what you will. Absolute sh1t show in hindsight one of the worst investment decisions I ever made.

I do remember asking you at the time what the point of investing in this was compared to just buying the ETH yourself, I like crypto (well I like ETH and BTC) but any of these companies that tried to hitch themselves to the hype train always looked too dodgy for me.

Dodgy CEO’s, outrageous falling outs between themselves and Marco etc. Just pure madness. Lost more on this in the same time frame than had I bought eth / btc. GBTC a far better way to gain portfolio exposure without ceos woes. Very content now holding the real thing however. Live and learn.

    Same, have about 1000.

Would need it to get back to ~1$ to break even. Some bit of movement the past few days, but I'm not hopeful.

Thanks for the comments. It's a weird one, I hear everyone saying it's a turd and I should sell, but it's now nearly twice what it was a few months back when I thought of getting out. The company still exists, right? Do people think it'll simply go bust sooner or later or just never grow a while lot more in value?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,502 ✭✭✭q85dw7osi4lebg

There’s a good chance you’ll continue to make money once crypto continues to go up. It’s just more risky than holding the actual crypto itself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,330 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

On a bit of a rip there now, not sure it's bitcoin price or the news of another 50MW deal https://hiveblockchain.com/news/

Just sold at $1.20 for a modest gain having pretty much written these off since last year or so. Tis a funny old game. That's enough crypto-related investing for me......still think it could go on rising another bit but if a fall comes it will drop hard so i'll take this opportunity to bail. Good luck to all still holding!

  • Registered Users Posts: 135 ✭✭JaimeLannister

I'd have thought mainly due to the surge in crypto prices. Bitcoin is near all-time highs and has been rising solid for the past month or two. Hive has been ticking along nicely along with that. Ethereum has really kicked off in the last week or so (going from c$500 to c$600 over the weekend), and this seems to have triggered the extreme rises in Hive share price since Friday. Of course there could be other stuff going on but that seems like the most obvious reason.
