Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The return of an international class out half to Ireland...

    AJ Macginty :pac:

Yes, because they're not owned by a private person who could leave or attempt to manipulate the sport for personal gain at any point in time.

I honestly can't imagine how anyone fails to grasp this concept. It's not a new rule.

The IRFU could attempt to manipulate the sport if they where inclined yet we take them on faith.

The newest of the rule doesn't make a difference. I've been aware of it since some French lad wanted to buy Gloucester a few years back.

Nope, nothing to do with faith.

    Perpignan draw Connacht.

It was always going to happen wasn't it? :D

Tbh if he ends up first choice (likely) I doubt Jackson will be playing in Galway anyway. USAP won't get a stuff about the Challenge Cup.

I'd say they'd rest him anyway simply to avoid the PR fuss. But it's still going to lead to a significant focus on the match in the build up until the team is announced.

I'm surprised they don't use the Lotto style drum. Austin could easily put two balls into the pot and just know that one is on left or right when he reaches back in. Bit of a weird system.

Some interesting ties in the Challenge Cup, though there's only going to be one story focused on and that's Pool 3!

    🤪

I'd put fiver on Benneton winning their group handily.
Nice trips to Perpignan and Bordeaux.

So what rules and regulations have the ERPC but into prevent tampering by the unions and secondly why can't the same be applied to the Germans?

Having seen the video and watched us lifting the trophy again, I am now pumped. Also, IBF may have contributed....

The IRFU can't leave Europe, are shareholders, and are intrinsically linked to the wellbeing of the sport for their entire existence as an organisation. None of that applies to HP Wild.

Now why the Germans and not SF? That's a good question. But it had to be one or the other as soon as Wild went out to splash his cash on a French team.

Given the current state of German rugby, I doubt he really cares.

Why are they calling it the Gallagher premiership but not the Guinness Pro14?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Castres & Munster would be dream stuff but fairly mundane at the same time...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Here we go! The tier 1 draw, the big one!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Munster in Tier 2?

    Edit: Nevermind...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    Exeter in Tier 2. Hmmm.

Everyone now hoping for Scarlets as Tier 1 club :-) everyone else doesn't want Exeter in Pool 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Munster have to draw Castres/Montpellier/Saracens from Tier 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Newcastle in tier 2! The crowd goes wild!

    Castres & Newcastle potentially...

The Welsh are in the same boat as us and have threatened to go join the English several times. So much for shareholders.

Well obviously not, but if it makes you happier to pretend it is that's grand.

Leinster in Pool 1, the best pool, where they deserve to be.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

    We're number 1! We're number 1!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

I'd rather them than Exeter. But Newcastle or Glasgow would have been nice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Pool 1: Leinster, Wasps
    Pool 2: Castres, Exeter Chiefs,
    Pool 3: Saracens, Glasgow,
    Pool 4: Scarlets, Racing 92
    Pool 5: Montpellier, Newcastle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

So Munster can't draw Leicester, Glasgow, or Racing this year? Who the heck are we supposed to play; we don't know how to travel anywhere else :D

    🤪

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Munster in Pool 2 so.

    Trip to Exeter! Castres again.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,967 ✭✭✭Synode

Why couldn't Edinburgh be drawn in Pool 1 (2 or 5 only)

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

    Pool 5 cripple fight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    Munster Castres Exeter

Munster ****ed into pool 2 by Healy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,229 ✭✭✭LeinsterDub

Well obviously not, but if it makes you happier to pretend it is that's grand.

Either they have rules and regulations . In which case they should be applied equally or we have 'faith' in certain stakeholder over others. It's obviously the latter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,148 ✭✭✭letowski

That could have been worse for Munster .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

    Pool 2, not bad

C'mon Newcastle. A trip down the road to see the lads would be nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,240 ✭✭✭✭Hurrache

We could have had an entire tournament of 7s played with the finishing places of each team deciding the pools by the time they've done this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Pool 1: Leinster, Wasps, Toulouse
Pool 2: Castres, Exeter Chiefs, Munster
    Pool 3: Saracens, Glasgow, Lyon
Pool 4: Scarlets, Racing 92, Leicester
    Pool 5: Montpellier, Newcastle, Edinburgh

Leinster with a tough one so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    Toulouse for Leinster
