But how will thy get that money back? It sounds like one of the worst investments you could make. He isnt going into the market as he has some revolutionary way to "change the dynamic" of social media, he would only do it to stick it to Twitter for banning him! It would be the most amateur platform out there, since he would either hire the cheapest devs possible or flat out refuse to pay them after the fact so no continued development, if his prior form is to be believed; it would Parler or even MSN Messenger look advanced.

At most we will get is probabyl him having a 30 minute/1 hour slot each week on OANN or Newsmax which will just be him whinging about "how bad a job Biden is doing notrealPresident" or other rants against everyone he doesnt like and how great he is.....just a televised version of his rallies each week.

...the same way all media platforms make money, i.e. data mining and advertisement etc, theres a massive market there

If he is not banned from running through being impeached he'll end up the front runner in the Republican party for 2024.

He'll be older than Moses at that stage...or as old as Biden is now:D

I'd imagine the Republicans will want someone a bit more savvy for four years hence.

a very good podcast called Trump Inc had a deep enough dive into his legal and financial liabilities, and where he can make money from.

A rather depressing fact was, that unless his presidential entitlements are removed by the Senate, he will simply stay at any of his resorts and those properties will be paid to host his security detail. A modest but constant revenue stream for him

Trump was born to a billionaire. I don't think he would manage with a modest income. I don't think any of that family could.

He'll lose millions over the next few years but you'll still see Trump Towers everywhere for another 10 years or so. Eventually the prime sites will be bought up.

Or in the case of the former Trump Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City blown up with dynamite in just a few weeks time

You've just described obtaining a line of credit, again trump has burnt any legitimate lender. Any grey source he may/has been able to access will be off limits now due to the current investigation into his finances by the SDNY

    I voted Other

I think he will start his own mega church (MAGAchurch?) Where he will continue preaching his gospel, he loves rambling to adoring followers who he can milk for hundreds of millions he needs to pay of debts and further litigation defense.

As added bonus he can cloak his hate speech in religious protections and finally churches in us get all sorts of tax exemptions.

He will spend next decade ranting in large halls and fields (all televised of course) before a series of strokes kills him.

I was thinking along these lines too. He loves giving that rally of his and there are plenty of evangelicals around him to show him the ropes.

That assumes that he can stay out of prison, which isn't a certainty.

I don't think he'll be back to politics though. McConnell doesn't seem to see a future for him so there might be enough republicans to convict him for their own self-serving reasons in the Senate trial.

...and again, trump doesnt need to, and as you said, he ll probably never be able to, but thats not really an issue for such a person, plenty associated with him could, and he could be used for exactly what hes good at, selling sh1t, even sh1t ideas, and theres tons of people globally prepared to lap it up

They meet God who says, sorry gentlemen but I'm afraid, as you probably know, you won't be getting in.
Trump replies fair enough but at least tell me this "was the election rigged"

Why would they show him the ropes? That would take directly away from their business.

Trump was latched onto by those people because he offered them something, for many it was SCOTUS.

HE no longer has that ability. So they are faced with a choice, COntinue to work with this loser, who might be able to turn it around in 4 years, or look after themselves and look for the next meal ticket.

IMO, Trump is about to see just how loyal these people really are.

Also if they decide not to announce them today could biden not just decide to be open and announce them tomorrow?

Re Trump as a TV channel, dunno why costs are being mentioned. There are countless twopenny sat channels on your SKY box - crappy low bitrate phone sex porn, God channels from Africa and Asia. They cost very little to set up and run. He'd certainly have no trouble funding it be it from his own pockets or someone elses (more likely given his history).

He'll be too busy setting up his rival to Facebook/Twitter and starting his own political party to bother with a TV channel this year. Poor guy is rushed off his feet. Doubt he'll even get a round of golf in with all he has planned.

"As President Donald Trump prepares to leave the White House, 34% of Americans approve of the job he is doing as president, the worst evaluation of his presidency. His 41% average approval rating throughout his presidency is four points lower than for any of his predecessors in Gallup’s polling era. Trump’s ratings showed a record 81-percentage-point average gap between Republicans and Democrats — 11 points wider than the prior record."

Gallup goes on to point out that Trump is also the only president in the history of the poll — which began in 1938 — never to have reached fifty percent, despite a few flirtations with the elusive benchmark. Although Trump didn’t quite reach Richard Nixon’s historic single-poll low of 26 percent, he shares with Nixon the distinction of being the only two presidents to score their worst approval ratings in their final poll.

The spin would be ignoring the booming global and national population. Per capita, he's simply not that popular, and 74M votes is still considerably less than half of the electorate (233.7 M of 330M + persons). After all, popularity is inexorably related to population!

Lest we forget the POTUS is not decided by "popular vote" (of which, Donald Trump never won a popular vote) and is elected by the electoral college. Among the most 'popular' winners, then, was in fact Richard Nixon (520-17-1):

    1972_Electoral_Map.png

But in 1936 Ted Roosevelt earned the crown of largest landslide with 523-8

    Which laws?

He potentially broke Georgia state law with respect to tampering with an election.

A separate federal law makes it illegal to attempt to “deprive or defraud” people of a “fair and impartially conducted election process.”

The legal experts interviewed by Reuters said Trump may have violated one or both of these laws.

The phone call was a “flagrant federal criminal violation,” said Jessica Levinson, a professor at Loyola Law School in California, adding that it appeared that Trump was using threats to push Raffensperger to alter a legitimate vote count."

Well, he's trying to allege he's not the worst.

By the percentages, Lincoln actually was the least popular-winner, in 1860 only getting 39.8% of the popular vote. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States%27_presidential_plurality_victories#:~:text=With%20the%20nation%20divided%2C%20Lincoln,history%20of%20the%20United%20States.

But in his second term, he won with 55%.

LOL sure... whatever lets get through the next 4 years, meanwhile the rest of us will be living in reality where your skewed way of reading election results is ignored completely.

Well, that 74m is, of course, inclusive of mail-in ballots, which Trump has declared as a fraud so really he only got 50m real votes.

It it claimed that some 1/3rd of Trump total voters did so my mail in vote.https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2020/11/20/the-voting-experience-in-2020/

He didn't put his name down to run for any election until he was 68.
He didn't expect to win in 2016.
He seemed to hate the job while he had it.
He lost the popular vote twice.
    He was impeached twice.
He never achieved a President satisfaction rating of even 50%.
His administration had 215 indictments attached to it.
He tried to instigate a coup to hold on to power.
He is several hundred million dollars in debt.
He has damaged the only thing that made money for him, his brand.

We will never see his name on an election day ballot again.

He became the nominee for a job he didn't like for a Party that didn't like him. It was a one off clusterfcuk of a coming together and neither side has benefitted from it. It is delusional for some to think he is some sort of heavyweight who is destined to be involved in politics.

Massive loser who won't be attending the inauguration. He will already be in Mar a Lago.

This actually presents a nuclear problem (but don't worry). https://www.mediaite.com/tv/florida-man-with-nukes-cnn-reports-donald-trump-will-bring-nuclear-football-with-him-to-mar-a-lago/

Because the football/briefcase must be with POTUS at all times, and 44 will not be handing off to 45 but will be hundreds of miles away, the DOD has prepared a new nuclear football for the incoming President. Presumably they will retire the old one, because I doubt Biden wants his taint.

This is the first time a president has not handed off power in person to the next president since 1860, so this situation has never arisen in the nuclear age.

Trump will never run for office again - The terror of losing again will prevent that.

If allowed , he'll pretend that he's planning to so he can fund raise (con) money from his base , but he won't actually run.

His Presidency is consistent with pretty much everything he has done in his entire life - Blagged his way into something good and then steadily ran it into the ground.

The only exception was The Apprentice , where he pretended to be a successful business man on a TV show . What helped him here was the fact that there weren't any actual real business decisions to be made.
