What does the future hold for Donald Trump? - threadbans in OP

I've seen two main options put forward on this forum, (1) that he'll remain a political force until the 2024 primaries start up and the Republicans have to take him seriously or (2) that he'll be so mired in litigation that he'll have no time for politics.

There are of course other options for the next 4 years - prison, exile, death or ill-health (he isn't young and he's been under stress), no politics but a business success, emperor. But it'd be an interesting exercise for people to lay their cards on the table now and make their predictions.

Personally I think his political influence will die quickly after the Capitol fiasco but someone else will emerge in 2 years, once the memories have waned, to be the standard-bearer for the QAnon wing.

They cost very little to set up and run. He'd certainly have no trouble funding it be it from his own pockets or someone elses (more likely given his history).

He'll be too busy setting up his rival to Facebook/Twitter and starting his own political party to bother with a TV channel this year. Poor guy is rushed off his feet. Doubt he'll even get a round of golf in with all he has planned.

The spin would be ignoring the booming global and national population. Per capita, he's simply not that popular, and 74M votes is still considerably less than half of the electorate (233.7 M of 330M + persons). After all, popularity is inexorably related to population!

Lest we forget the POTUS is not decided by "popular vote" (of which, Donald Trump never won a popular vote) and is elected by the electoral college. Among the most 'popular' winners, then, was in fact Richard Nixon (520-17-1):

Well, that 74m is, of course, inclusive of mail-in ballots, which Trump has declared as a fraud so really he only got 50m real votes.

He didn't put his name down to run for any election until he was 68.
He didn't expect to win in 2016.
He seemed to hate the job while he had it.
He lost the popular vote twice.
He was impeached twice.
He never achieved a President satisfaction rating of even 50%.
His administration had 215 indictments attached to it.
He tried to instigate a coup to hold on to power.
He is several hundred million dollars in debt.
He has damaged the only thing that made money for him, his brand.

We will never see his name on an election day ballot again.

He became the nominee for a job he didn't like for a Party that didn't like him. It was a one off clusterfcuk of a coming together and neither side has benefitted from it. It is delusional for some to think he is some sort of heavyweight who is destined to be involved in politics.

If allowed , he'll pretend that he's planning to so he can fund raise (con) money from his base , but he won't actually run.

His Presidency is consistent with pretty much everything he has done in his entire life - Blagged his way into something good and then steadily ran it into the ground.

The only exception was The Apprentice , where he pretended to be a successful business man on a TV show . What helped him here was the fact that there weren't any actual real business decisions to be made.
