In past few weeks,on upper body day, I've done my sets of pull up and taken an hours break before doing bench press. I find Ive more energy when doing bench and am progressing more on each exercise. I used to superset before or alternate starting with pull or push exercises. Any downsides to this?

A superset will just allow you to do more in a timeframe.

If you get more from your bench, by having the break between the two then that is the way to go, if you have the time.

Perfect. I used have a trainer, I confess I'm liking having control and doing upper /lower days(rather than full body with minimal rest which was great for endurance but likely slowed my progression in some lifts as was knackered half way through session )
