Exercise Bike Recommendation

Hey There,

Probably posted below but does anyone have a good recommendation for an indoor exercise bike? Would be interested in something that we could mount an ipad to either follow a class or watch TV show.

Budget 500-1000 - could stretch for the right bike

At that budget I would look for a second hand commercial gym bike like a spinner or a keiser M3. Might be hard to get at the moment though!

I have Schwinn ic8 which would be to the top end of your budget. it has a built in tray for holding tablet/iPad.

I've the rogue echo version of that assault bike.

A killer of a workout is guaranteed.
Good for long,short and interval training.

There are threads about it here if you do a search.

Did you buy your Schwinn bike online? Used your link but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a distributor in Ireland and looks like you would have to ring a store in the UK.

If you have an road bike already, it might be worth your while considering a turbo trainer. It effectively turns your road bike into an exercise bike. Prices start from around 60 euro. You could then purchase a zwift subscription (Around 8 euro a month), it's an online virtual world that you can cycle around and has many training programs. More expensive turbo trainers can recreate the effects of the gradient in the online world. You can also race other users if that's your thing!

Just to add to this in case anyone else is interested in buying the Schwinn IC8 - I tried fitt24 as mentioned above but no dice. This bike caught me when researching. I read there are discrepancies between the power output when using Zwift? I can't find any information if this was fixed?

Looking at getting the Schwinn ic8 or as its now called the 800IC.

The best price I can see it is from Fitness Superstore in the UK,

722 euro which is a great deal.

However, getting it to Ireland is the question. They will ship to Ireland, don't know the cost exactly but someone mentioned 75 euro earlier.

Also there is VAT and Custom duties at play here, so not sure what the end price would be. It could end up more expensive than other places.

My wife and I are both having issues that may be alleviated by the use of an exercise bike. My own experience of exercise bikes involves only upright bikes that mirror 'ordinary' cycling. My wife is interested in the idea of a recumbent exercise bike where the seating position may apparently be more comfortable for someone who does not cycle very often. Has anyone any experience of comparing the two styles or any valid comment / suggestion as to the pros and cons of the different styles?
