For me, it’s the latter. Is Ringrose in the top 3/4 centres in the world? At 13 alone, I’d have Radrada, Tuilagi, Davies, Goodhue, you could argue Am too, and then probably Ringrose. Does being 5th in the world in your position make you world class?

Don’t think you could say Ringrose is behind half those lads. A few flavors of the months there ahead of him you’ve picked. radradra as good a talent as he is has played less than 50 top class games. Goodhue? Am? Tualagi and Davies sure

He just needs to really back himself. I’d imagine joe got in his head and we haven’t seen half of his true ability. Rarely do we see the footwork for ireland that we saw yesterday. Just needs to cut loose. He seems so diligent, that he would’ve done whatever joe told him include reigning in his attacking tendencies so as to secure ruck positions for joes phase play. You can see that with half the Leinster team. Vdf another one. A lower level sure but Stu sure let’s the lads play. A joy to watch

Hopefully the culture of fear is gone from Irish rugby and the healing can start with some real Leinster quality. Look at Conway yesterday as well

I know French teams home and away are very different but Lyon have been incredibly poor today. Northampton look good though.

Lyon at home against Leinster will be a huge game for Lyon, they will be lining this game since the draw and Leinster is a huge scalp....I think Leinster will win but that will be about it.....

Watched the game on TV. Yesterday I didn't catch quite how many times Benneton hit Sexton late. I know the referee warned them about it, but it was after the third such hit. Should've been done earlier. That Benneton turnover where the lock was clearly on his knees was also a shocker too.

Looking back on the game I think VDF and Deegan were our best players after Ringrose. VDF played wider than he does with Ireland, was son the shoulder to receive the pass after a break, and then acted as a link man to the next runner. Great athlete. Deegan played extremely well in the tighter areas. Hit a lot of rucks and carried exceptionally hard.

Another thing I didn't notice yesterday was Larmour playing as a second receiver and passing wide. Did it a few times and sucked defenders in who expected him to run with the ball.

Monopoly in European rugby. Significant stakes in the Premiership, Pro14 and the 6 Nations (reportedly). They're investing in the hope that TV and ad revenue continues to rise.

CVC will want to make money. Expect a European super league. Drop the Henieken cup and just have the Pro 14/Permiership/T14 as reserve leagues.

CVC don't have the power to do that. There are far too many clubs who will be against a European super league i.e. all the teams who won't be in it.

Yeah, but at the same time Lyon had two absolutely braindead interceptions on the Northampton line. Saints defence looked good when Lyon were plodding along, but they were also able to make a good bit of ground when they actually started playing.

Exactly. What we might see is all rugby with CVC involvement might get packaged together into a single tv package, which might actually be a good thing.

That would be brilliant, getting just one sport means not having to subsidise other sports, the dream is something like nfl pass.

Hopefully. Things are starting to get out of hand with multiple different providers having exclusivity to different competitions, like the fact Virgin customers can't get BT but BT have the rights for the ERC. Be great if there was an accessible version of rugbypass for European customers (or NFL game pass with the redzone split screen would be a dream come through).

Whatever it is the federations will know, CVC aren't in it for the love of rugby. I'd expect major changes to come in the next few years.

Was thinking of you and the wax jacket jokes when a couple of utter gobsh!tes in, you guessed it, wax jackets made an appearance on the terrace. Never seen before, possibly never to be seen again (one can only hope). Roaring at players that passed by on a first name basis like they knew them all. Shouting "pendulum James" at Lowe everytime there was a loose ball. It was everything the stereotype describes and it was horrible to bear witness to. And it's all your fault for mentioning wax jackets.

Four goys behind me (they aren't regulars but they would go to HC games), spent the whole match yacking at high volume about everything but the game. It started with the confirmation of an acquaintance being a "Google Ambassador" and went rapidly downhill from there, through various discussions on investments and career opportunities. I wanted to rip my ears off.

Treviso much better than most match reviews gave them credit for I thought.

I will never forget my first visit to the sportsground.. in amongst leinster fans... and had 4 or 5 of those tossers SENDING pints and cackling throughout... one actually turned to a female friend (gf?) and actually said these words aloud...... "hush woman, man talk".... i **** you not !!!

embarrassed to be sharing club colours with the likes of that that day.

You'll find Leinster fans from outside the pale are brought up to hate clubs/schools from inside the pale with a fury that other provinces could never dream of matching or appreciating. We're not entirely sure how to handle northsiders yet, mind.

Northsiders are also brought up to hate schools from the southside.

Actually now that I think of it were just brought up to hate education in general never mind just schools.

We handle northsiders exactly how we've always handled them. Put them in the Joy. It hasn't failed yet. Transporting to Connacht stopped working when they took up rugby over there.

Just watched the match. Benneton were really up for it.
We were so so, but some fine performers. Ringrose, R.O.L and VDF were the pick of the bunch for me.
R.O.L was fantastic. His passing was really good and I think he really came out looking good. VDF was great. Ran great support lines and really looks the part out in the wider channels.

Kelleher was very good as was Healy. Healy is just insanely good. It's hard to believe he's this good at 32 years old.
Hopefully Furlong can get back into the side. Lyon will be tough, they don't have to integrate players back in from the rwc. It will be really tough.
