Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
Mate of mine sent me this site: http://www.bizzibargains.com/

Anybody got any experience of these ? It seems to good to be true (and in that case, it usually means it is too good to be true)

(BTW - I did a Bargain Alerts search for "Bizzi" and got no results)

    That's a rapid share OP.

There are some genuine Windows 7 keys being sold on the net for around 20-30 dollars depending on edition. It's a bit grey market though but technically it's perfectly legal and you get a completely genuine edition of windows.

With regard to bizzibargains.com, that site is quite obviously not genuine. The domain was registered to a residential address, to a non-existent company, using a hotmail address, in the last month.

In the last hour, the who is records have been updated, and the site is now registered through a secure proxy, so you can no longer tell whom owns it, but it is related to a series of sites owned by Reflect Perfect.

I would conclude that this is a very dodgy practice (a business is not allowed to register through a proxy anyway), and surrealashton is obviously part of it.

Do not buy from that site, and ignore everything he has said.

Nor am I, surrealashton. Re-regging to once again pimp your scam just proves how untrustworthy Bizbargains.com is. Once again, for the Google searches, Bizbargains.com is a scam, con, fake, not genuine, scam, scam, scam. Bizbargains.com.

I think that should be enough to warn people off your little scam.

This thread just got very untidy this morning!

I've deleted a lot of posts as while they were not particularly unwelcome, they were starting to get a bit heated and a tad off-topic.

If you want any further discussion on the topic, start a new thread in 'Online Buying & Auctions' or 'Consumer Issues'.

Try using Web of Trust (WOT) add-on for firefox. It gives an indicator of previous opinions of whatever site you are looking at.

In relation to http://www.gadgetsfree4u.co.uk/, see the WOT scorecard. http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/gadgetsfree4u.co.uk. I would steer clear.

Also, bear in mind that WOT is only as reliable as the people who enter the ratings. For example, http://xboxliveuk76.com/ gets a good rating on WOT, but it's described as a scam site here. So it's not foolproof.

Using WOT, you can eliminate many untrustworthy sites from your google search results. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3456

any website or "store" that uses yahoo news, bbc news and just about any other uk site to register under a pretend name just to post comments (unrelated to the current news article) with "where can I get a free iphone?".... followed by another faker adding "Here's a place where you can get the latest gadgets for free... go to gadgetsforfree etc" has to be completely avoided!

I dont think its the result of the company having so many followers, when no-one has heard of them from anywhere other than through search engines or the above fakers. would a legit site advertise in such an illegal manner just to get their custom? I think the owners of amazon.co.uk would be in jail by now if they did, lol ;)

What are the copyright laws in Ukraine like?

    http://the1709blog.blogspot.com/2010/01/goodbye-sweden-hello-ukraine.html
That decision prompted many piracy services to seek jurisdictions beyond the reach of western law. Pirate Bay moved its web servers to Ukraine, while another popular file-sharing service, Demonoid, which started in Serbia, also relocated.

"Before going completely dark in October [2009], Demonoid physically moved their servers to Ukraine, and remotely controlled them," said John Robinson, of BigChampagne, .... "Ukrainian communications law, as they paraphrase it, says that providers are not responsible for what their customers do. Therefore, they feel no need to speak about or defend what they do."

With such poor laws against sites hosting illegal music, you could just be funding someones weekend drinking fund, with no money going to the actual artists.

Oh, it may well be, but since it's not illegal to have a site that hosts copyrighted music in Ukraine, I'd see no difference in getting it there, and getting it off "fast"share :P

    Anyone ever dealt with inksdirect.ie?

I was going to buy a few ink cartridges from this guy but having looked at the site I declined. No contact phone number, no address for returns, no description of the company etc.

I did contact the guy(s) by email asking why there was no address or phone number and in fairness he replied but the explanation left a lot to be desired and still didn't include a contact number or address
Thanks for the feedback. The reason that there is no address on the site is because I also have a retail shop selling inks and toners. Obviously, I can not sell product at the same price in the shop as I can on the web (little or no overheads on the web) However, my retail customers might not see it that way and think I am trying to rip them off in the shop. I was trying to please both sectors, those use the shop and those who use the web

LoL. Dodgy as hell. If he wanted, he could just have used info@inksdirect.ie but meh.

Father got a heap of cartridges from http://www.inkredible.co.uk a while back at a very good price. Got 4 sets for an Epson PX700W for £25. Each cartridge has 19ml in it, and is lasting 3 times longer than the usual ones.

OK. Suspiciously good prices. UK Company number checks out athttp://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/436e03cb6edf37da93748c180fa2352d/compdetails. Regional retail stores are hard to track down on google maps and registered office appears to be a suburban bungalow in Scotland.

Also, seem to provide free delivery to anywhere in EU & there a subtle typos on site. Anyone had any dealings?

    OK. Suspiciously good prices.

That alone should be enough of a warning; I've never heard of them, plus they have no proper internet history (especially in english), a number of forum discussions on them ending negatively - like this one - in austria - here's a translation link - http://www.microsofttranslator.com/BV.aspx?ref=IE8Activity&a=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.geizhals.at%2Ft717364%2C-1.html
Also the About Us store photo looks doctored - if you look at the floor reflection, there is a person missing - plus the store name reflection doesn't correspond http://www.hometechworld.net/about.php. I would stay well clear.

Hi i am actually the managing director of electricbay.ie
Im a new startup company and i offering such low prices to get my website name out there.
I don't know if you understand what a company has to go through to get a .ie address. There is a lot more involved than simply getting a .com, .co.uk or a .net address. If you want to set up one of these address all you have to do is buy the name and away you go.

For a .ie address you have to be a registered company and the process is rigerous. MBL Direct is the name of the company that electricbay.ie trades under. I use electricbay.ie because it is a catchier name.

I only accept paypal which is 100% secure, or if you live in Dublin i can meet you in person. I have a number of happy customers and if there is any other steps i can take to make customers feel safer shopping online please let me know and i will do the best i can to meet these requirement.

Im also on ebay.ie my ebay account is electricbay.ie i have 241 sales and my feedback is 98.9.
The issue with the two phone numbers on the website is due to me not been able to get hold of my web developer to change it, i can change the content on my page but not the design, the wrong phone number is in the header which i cannot change, if anyone want to get a hold of me im contactable on 0851751714

I hope this answers everyones questions please give me feedback on this article and let me know what you think i will answer any questions because i know electricbay.ie cannot be beaten on price

Thank you for your reply. And for not going all out giving out about us(me) picking it apart - alot of other people do.

BUT! Would you buy off a site that first of looks to cheap to be true, Yes you say it is true and I believe you, and then doesn't have Terms & Conditions or a Privacy Policy? Would YOU?

And then people will go with the attitude - looks dodgy, is dodgy!

So seen as you can control the content I would suggest making them two documents mentioned look better.

Thanks for reading and good luck to you!

Have a look at self-build website templates on Wix.com which also easily integrate PayPal checkout -

    http://www.wix.com/

Ebay may be useful for driving traffic towards your site but can also be cumbersome, time consuming and their feedback system is open to abuse.
Your electricbay.ie site doesn't look great to be honest and a combination of low price, yahoo email address and bad design would give potential buyers the yips.

All this can be speedily and inexpensively fixed though, so it ain't all bad.

Was looking at google products for buying a bike.
Found the cheapest site for the bike I'm after to be http://www.trailheadbikes.com/
They were only slightly cheaper than the next company, but offered free international shipping & 30% discount on bikes over 500USD.
Looked too good to be true, and when came to payment page I found they needed moneygram for Irish orders . (they only accept CC for Spain & US orders)
I tried with my CC anyway and order got rejected - CC is OK (I think)
I was initially thinking scammer but then thought maybe not because:
    • Referred to from google products - do they list scammer sites?
    • Rejected my CC payment attempt - a scammer would take the cc
    • Site is professionally designed
    • Domain registered in 2004
    • Have a spanish & US warehouse address on the site..
    Anyone have any thoughts?
I'm tempted to go ahead with moneygram but realise I've no recourse..
