Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I only had to move devices to allow control of music app in my devices. Basically i deregistered devices, jninstalled Alexa then set up alexa again with an Indian location, checked if cast in the music app was showing device and was usable and then changed location back to Ireland. Now 4 of the alexa devices i own show in the cast option of Amazon music and i am now able to control music through the app on my phone.
I'm still not able to stream to firecube or samsung sound bar. I'll figure it out i hope.

can you please check if you dont mind, do you have access to irish skills? for eg, can you search climote skill which is local to ireland?
i moved my alexa location from india to ie but unable to find local skills

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 964 ✭✭✭mistress_gi

I can't find it either. I did a bit of googling and it looks like you loose local skills when the account is moved to another country. So you have to choose between music control ot local skills.
Also figure out, if you decide to move account to India the trick is to move the kindle account to india
    Live and learn!
So the lesson is, if you don't need to control muaic from your phone leave the account where it is!

Any other way around to get the US or UK Prime video?

Getflix dns or smart dns proxy are more reliable than vpn and much cheaper

First payment went through today after my trial went out, but not without problems. Revolut blocked the payment and froze my virtual card. I had to go in and unfreeze it and say the transaction was OK but then Turkish Prime sent an email saying they'd suspended my account and I needed to update my payment method to continue. I just approved the virtual card again and the payment went through. Just saying this in case anybody else has the same issue.

On another note, the content is (a lot?) different than the UK Prime (and perhaps the Irish one). I watch via the app on Apple TV and I don't see any live events. I thought some live events were supposed to be available? And anybody know a way of accessing the UK/Irish or USA content?

Happened to me also. Everything set up and card open and 'bang' Revolut froze the card. I wouldn't mind but this card has previously been used on this a/c and was previously verified.

I use the Getflix Smart DNS and there is a good bit of content on it when Amazon Prime is set to Canada.
For 90c/month it is excellent value.

My first payment went through yesterday, 82c. In my revolut app is still on status pending so not sure if there is some issue with it. Revolut virtual card btw.

I have UK Prime but am not getting much content. Am I correct in saying that I would have to contact them to get my location changed back to Ireland? If I do this though will I lose the music options? (I seem to remember having to get it changed to UK location to get Amazon music working)

The other option here is GetFlix DNS, but does that not cost €60 a year?

    Thanks

55 us dollars for two years. Less than 50c EU per month. You can get iplayer & all the UK channels. You can also get hbomax, Showtime etc if you want.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance

If you're using the translate functiin in amazon.com.tr it could be that.
You should still be charged in turkish lira though

I'm trying to sign up to amazon turkey. Using Sharksurf vpn, I have verified using a new email address but then its asking for a Turkish phone number, so I entered a fake one but its sending a verification code to the number.

    Anyone else have this issue?

I done it yesterday, didn't look for a verification code, can you try a different fake no.?

False alarm, I was trying to sign up to amazon with the Turkish vpn on and it was asking for the phone number verification.

I turned off the vpn and signed up to Irish amazon and it didn't ask for it. Got the account set up and then turned the vpn back on to register for prime. All good now!

Got an email from Amazon today saying my account was suspended because my payment wouldn't go through. Had to unfreeze my Revolut card and go back into Amazon and confirm my card details. Payment was then taken. Strange. Hope I don't have to do this every month?

Same happened me. Was OK with them cancelling tbh for the month I had it there was nothing I watched on it and was just another subscription I probably didn't need

If you already have a prime account on your firestick do you have to deregister that one before you log in with your new prime account?

Can someone post the link for this please(the YouTube method) .. I cannot locate it.. Thanks.

Also.. Can someone explain to me why you would sign up for Prime India for E11 when amazon.co.uk prime has prime delivery and prime video included for much the same price? I have prime video and am curious what the difference would be. Thanks.

If someone doesn't want to pay for UK prime they can use India/Turkey for cheap TV/movies. Also it is very easy to switch regions to get more content.

Done this yesterday and was able to watch a show last night. My only concern is there is nothing showing yet on my revolut, is this because of the one month free first?

    Yes that is exactly why.

Has anyone had any joy in using a card for prime india?

Sorry i don't understand this request, do you want to sign up to youtube or prime video?
If the later, you just need to go to the amazon website you're signing up to, no need for VPNs on this.

    Here you go

Spot on.. Thank you.. Signed up for YouTube premium family last night.. Then Tidal.. I already have a Spotify family sub for the last new years. But had a look last night at signing up in Argentina for the same and it works out about E2 or so.. Has anyone done this already and is there any pitfalls that differ from netflix/YouTube subs etc?

Has anyone managed to get the US library working with any VPN? I can only get the Canadian one with surfshark, which has a great collection but wondering if any other regions are possible.

Expressvpn will get you us prime video but you need a US prime subscription

The above link has some support for smart tvs but more than likely you would need to configure your router.

Once you're signed up to getflix, it's a simple process to change your dns settings on an LG TV

It depends on the tv. It's not possible to change the dns on my Sony TV. In the end I changed the dns of my router. This means everything using the router or WiFi is going through Getflix

How do you access amazon prime india?

I tried using a VPN but it needs a mobile phone to register. My mobile phone is already used on a different amazon account so I cant use that.

So Spotify have just bumped up their Monthly subscription for family plans
Thinking of jumping ship to Indian Prime, does anyone know if you can have multiple users on Amazon Music via Indian prime account?

Looks like gift cards are the only option at the moment, might give curve card a try too.

I'd recommend YouTube premium or Tidal.. Both can be got in family subscription for pennies using turkey or Argentina with a Vpn..

Go with Turkey instead. You don't need a phone number.

No VPN needed. Register an account in amazon.co.uk, for example and then sign in in amazon.in.
As i mentioned, i could only get prime working by buying a gift card

Tidal has an Alexa skill, not sure how good it is though.
I'm not really sure how to set up a family in amazon, i only shared the login details with other people for video access. The music i keep for myself.

    Edit:
After a bit of research, family settings are only available in amazon music unlimited and that service is not available in India.

For those interested. Amazon brasil have prime with amazon music inbluded it works out at around 13 euros per year.
You'll need a CPF number, i used this website to generate one and a brasillian address:

    https://www.fakenamegenerator.com/gen-random-br-br.php

Just as an additional nice to have, music unlimited is available in Brasil, i didn't test it though

Thanks OP - very easy to set up, I put in the Irish Embassy as the address and didn't need to enter a phone number!

Thanks. But I cannot get it to accept any of my cards, tried 3 revolut cards, AIB and curve card without joy. I tried with both VPN on and off. Can't see any options to buy Amazon Brazil gift cards either. There is a message that the are temporarily not accepting debit cards so maybe that is the reason. I will try again in a couple of days.
