    2121 dead in Us today
5,350 odd dead in Europe today

    265,800 deaths in Us total
    330,000 deaths in Europe total

    Belgium
    Peru
    Spain
    Italy
    Uk
    Argentina
Higher death toll per million of population than United states

Not comparing like with like. The US is a federal nation state. Europe is not.

It's pretty terrible for a virus that's been beaten at least a few times, according to the White House.

Europe has over double the population of the US.

Death rate per mn (Europe): 481
Death rate per mn (USA): 778

And given how blindsided some like Italy and Spain were with very old populations back when we knew little of, as well as some European countries failing utterly at controlling the virus, and the fact that Europe has treble the population density of the US, the death rate should be considerably higher in Europe than it is in the US. Instead though, it's the US that have a whopping 60% higher death rate from it.

Now let's look back to April
Death rate per mn (Europe): 42
Death rate per mn (USA): 12

Europe's death rate used to be 350% higher than the US, and now it is 60% lower.

It's almost as if the US have made a complete and utter balls of this, almost comically worse than Europe as a whole, despite Europe having several disaster zones like the UK, France, Italy, Spain within it.

San Marino with only 44 deaths are doing so much better than Australia who have had over 900.

2800 deaths yesterday, the highest single-day deaths for the entire pandemic in the US!

    Hospitalisation are at over 100K.

And a POTUS that has absolutely nothing to say about it.

I'm an avid viewer of American News channels (Not Fox) and its just astonishing the numbers over the past month. Take aside the size of America, the number of Deaths and cases is astounding. 2777 deaths yesterday, 1810 so far today, 275.256 deaths so far and 14 million cases to date.

California just announcing stay at home order state wide.

Trumps lack of response, infact lack of interest is breathtaking and yet 74 million voted for him. But I sense there's more to this tragedy than Trumps incompetence and its clearly a vast amount of Americans who just don't get it. As a society (I lived there), they've never taken to being told what to do, well. You'd think even the most ardent trump supporter might react to mobile refrigerated morgues parked up outside hospitals all over America. I'd also suspect most of these people must at this stage, know someone whose been impacted or worse still died as a result of this pandemic.

My real fear is that if this is how it is and continues to be almost a year into this pandemic, Vaccine Roll out, despite the billions spent & all the hype is going to fail abysmally, particularly if almost half it's population doesn't seem to give a S**t and are highly unlikely to take the vaccine, partly because of conspiracy theories, but mainly because of abject Stupidity.

Are people finally realising that the American response can't be blamed exclusively on Trump or one person.

American culture is every man for themselves. Americans don't give a toss about the loss of life. Their health system is made for profit and they provide only pittance social welfare protection.

    They don't care.

COVID is currently killing more Americans per day than any other cause of death.

Top U.S. causes of deaths per day:

    COVID - 2,800
    Heart Disease - 1,795
    Cancer - 1,642
    Accidents - 458
    Lung Disease - 437
    Stroke - 404

    Off twitter.

We don't really know how ordinary citizens are influenced by the US president. America is a vast very diverse country.

The establishment there seemed happy to focus on mask usage to avoid shutting down too much and affecting the economy.

Americans believe in the almighty dollar and McDonald's. Not much else.

Are people finally realising that the American response can't be blamed exclusively on Trump or one person.

Who was? What other world leaders are being blamed exclusively for the outbreaks?

None, they are being accountable as being the person with the ultimate responsibility.

Many world leaders have struggled, and many have made grave errors, in the handling of the crisis. But the majority, I cannot state all as I have checked them all, have done so based on making the decisions they thought would be best. Faced with difficult decisions, decisions that were never black and white and would end up causing issues no matter what, they tried.

The main difference with Trump is that he didn't even try. He 1st lied about it, then said he would sort it, then picked on anybody that disagreed with him, then got bored, and when he got it and recovered declared everything was sorted and it was all just nonsense. He also actively helped spread the disease by holding rallies rather than amend his campaign, as Biden did, to protect his supporters. He did that because, unlike Biden, his only concern was winning the election, if people got sick and died on the ay then so be it.

Trump has to take the majority of the blame for a number of reasons. He is POTUS and thus has ultimate responsibility. Although he now denies that, he said previously that the POTUS has the final responsibility. Second, he knowingly sought to downplay the threat, and urged his supporters to fight back against any attempts to bring in measures to reduce the impact.

He continued to hold events, which shown on TV give the impression that meeting people etc is perfectly fine.

Your attempt to make it out that anybody blames him solely is a crass attempt to avoid holding him to account for the significant part his has, and continues to play, in the increasing death toll that this is having in the US.

Even now, as the US enters the virus most deadly phase, he is doing nothing to help stem the tide, he is doing nothing to help those that require help. He is instead crying that he lost an election and that nobody will listen to his tantrum.

The worst is yet to come for the US!

    Will Boris follow suit?

Los Angeles issues brutal letter: do not treat dying patients.

A brutal letter by virus-ravaged Los Angeles county health authorities directing ambulance drivers to not transport dying patients or waste oxygen reveals the extent of the COVID crisis gripping the US.

Abbott is the last person I would take any data off.

And I'm presuming you are saying just let people run free is a strategy that works.
