JFF now third choice QB in Cleveland.

It's f*cking infuriating to see this bum throw away such an opportunity. Hundreds/thousands of dedicated, passionate players are never given a chance to show what they can do in the NFL and this guy doesn't give a sh*t. He never has and never will.

Everyone knew this was how it would go. I find it hard to believe that there is a single scout in the NFL that could look at this guys life and say "yeah, I would be okay taking this guy in the 1st round". The browns wasted a 1st round pick and passed on someone who could have changed the franchises fortunes all for publicity, season ticket & jersey sales.

It would be enough for me to stop supporting them if I was a fan.

Really can't understand this decision from the Browns, so what he was out at the weekend when the team were on a bye. Their season is dead, they need to see how good J Football can be, not relegate him to 3rd choice. So infuriating to be a Browns fan I'd imagine.

Disagree with this, if he has no discipline don't see how his team mates can have any respect for him. You don't see Brady or Rodgers out partying during their bye weeks.

He needs to take his job seriously, he needs to understand you dont just turn up on Sunday and play, its a full time job.

He had obviously been asked not to be out partying hence his demotion. I reckon h'es done in Cleveland now. THey'll have the number one pick and will take a QB.

He specifically and publically said he wouldn't go out and would just use the bye week to relax a bit as he didn't want to embarrass the team. He clearly will never, ever change.

The Browns passed on the chance to take Bridgewater and Carr TWICE! Unbelievable really, well since it's the Browns it's very believable I guess.

He's a bum, he's never going to be good enough to be a QB in the NFL anyway. His off the field stuff is just nails in the coffin.

Thus completing the circle of browns life.

I think he has all the talent in the world but his attitude/way of life means he will never make it. It's just sad really.

He hasn't got remotely the technique to be an nfl qb. He can do some great off the cuff stuff but the D's in the NFL figure that out very quickly. He was an awful pick by the browns... as usual when they take a qb...

Spotted in the Vegas casinos last night. The bloke is a lost cause. And then there was this:

Who's going to be Lloyd's next victim? :D

Not only was he in Vegas, but he was there in a blonde wig, fake mustache and used the name "Billy", according to ESPN Vegas.

Apparently a video exists too. I'm sceptical as this story seems too good to be true, but I'm deciding it's true because I want it to be.

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,128 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Taking a step back from the questions of how drunk he was, where and when; bottom line is that as QB for the Browns he should have been on the sideline Sunday assisting Austin Davis in whatever way he could. Anything less is merely a further indication of how much of a feckless loser athlete he is at this level.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭Magico Gonzalez

It'll all come back to haunt him when he's sitting at home in a few years time trying to work out where it all went wrong and why he isnt an NFL starter.

Checking into Instagram in Ohio with an old photo of him and his dog (while larging it in Vegas) was the funniest part of this episode :D

I'd love to see him go to Dallas and do well, purely for the amount of people it would piss off.

I want him to go to Dallas and do reasonably well. Enough to start a few years, but not enough to actually win them anything.

I'd actually feel a little sad for Romo, someone who is the ultimate professional and warrior, and until recently, a very underrated QB, if someone like Manziel turned up and actually won a SB with half the dedication and commitment.

For me this sounds like a very immature comment.

How would you get pleasure out of this? Would you not rather see a guy who has worked his butt off get a starting gig and do well?

No, I would rather see Manziel do well because it would annoy people. As far as vices go wanting a particular sports-star to do well is not one of the worst.

Anyway, if he did get the start through Romo being out injuried or some such and did well, surely he would have deserved it? I never stated the circumstances of his hypothetical success in Dallas.

I like to see sports stars show a bit of colour, a streak of the rebel, not be afraid to let the hair down.

Manziel way overstepped that long ago and is evidently just a complete and utter gobshXXe with nothing but contempt for those around him. I can understand addictions, painkillers, recreational drugs, alcohol...but a partying lifestyle? No. If his career ends up on the scrapheap, you'd have to say it was precisely what he deserved.

It would be what he deserves. Let's face it, it's the most likely scenario right now. That's why I would like if he proved everyone wrong and did well with what seems to be the most hated team in the NFL - Dallas.

I think the browns were a toxic environment that just feeded Manziels madness! There is some coaches that would just take manziel and put him under there wing and protect him from outside stuff! Honestly i dont think he is a bad qb - bit small - but he has the potential to be an above average starter if he has some help around him. He linked up well with Benjamin this year when he played!

Is he an idiot - yes - but with the right team i think he could be less of an idiot! I dont think thats with the browns

Hey Lloyd, I hear those Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell blokes in Pittsburgh are loose cannons. Great your thread started! :D

Which team will Johnny Manziel be on for Week 1 of the 2016 NFL Regular Season:

    Dallas Cowboys: 2/1
    Cleveland Browns: 6/1
    Philadelphia Eagles: 7/1
    St. Louis Rams: 15/2
    San Francisco 49ers: 10/1
    Houston Texans: 16/1
    Any other NFL team: 3/2
Not on an NFL team: 7/1

Manziel is not going to go anywhere and win a Superbowl. It's time for people to give up on him. He just doesn't give a crap and doesn't even need the money!

This is a huge thing IMO.

The bloke was set even if he'd never bothered to play a game of football in his life. A heck of a lot of players in the NFL and other professional sports are insanely motivated because they've never had any money or any of the other stuff that comes with being successful. Manziel already had everything.
