I pray for actual assassins guild to be involved at least. the last two have broken my heart without that.

Would love the brotherhood mechanic brought back too.

I think it's tough to keep going back further and further without drifting away from the assassin element so I agree. I really hope they return to the creed timeline soon as there's so much they can do there.

I'm actually enjoying these pre-assassin ones. Just in case:
I think they have more room for a better story about the First Civilisation with the current trend of going before the Assassins. Odyssey is leaning towards what the lore in the game describes as acts of Gods was actually the First Civilisation, and the opportunity to release similar games but set in Norse, Asian, even Irish mythology has be excited. Imagine playing an AC type game in Irish Mythology! It would be amazing. Similar to Japanese, and the opportunities for exploring this in every facet of pre-civilisation has me excited.

We could see that the more modern ones were catching up to ballistics, and I think that's where these games will start to fall down as you can't have a good assassiney game with guns imo. Going back before this was the only real way to keep the series going. But they've also proven that it doesn't have to be an AC game to be enjoyable, so I reckon we'll see less AC games and more new IP's but basically AC Odyssey as the starting block.

There is something about Rogue that I liked, I ploughed through it when I got it.

And the DLC is nearly finished, the last episode of The Fate of Atlantis is coming out this month, and that's it I believe. Unless they have a Season 2 planned.

    https://assassinscreed.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/odyssey/dlc

I'm hoping they do announce a season 2.
It could run from December to May of next year with a story completely foreign of the main cast or a continuation, I wouldn't mind.

I'd pay €30 happily if that was announced :)

Yeah, Odyssey is that good that I'd be happy with a Season 2.

Imagine if all the games were connected, but you never buy a 'new game'. You only ever buy a new area, which may or may not come with a new character but a continuation/addition to the overall story. Like, next DLC could be a map as big but set it in say, Turkey at the same time. You 'sail' across to it if it's the same character. Eventually, you could have a series of DLC which all make a globe of AC goodness!

    I'm thinking too big...

yeah but you'd end up with a game that was built on old tech and for old hardward after a bit, so it wouldn't stand the test of time.

Shur it would just give them the opportunity to update it and release the whole lot on next gen for more money!

    Yes and No

Yes that will happen but you are paying for a service (EA access Upay Xbox game pass)

Yes streaming will make that an option for...................

No Players want updated graphics so updating the game means updating their PC/Console. (see above)

No you want an MMORPG without the MMORPGSness :D

I'm stuck in this game now with a bug :(.

IF anyone knows a fix let me know!!!

I am at the ancient forge where you upgrade the spear to level 2. I've seen on YouTube when you go to the forge and put the spear in it triggers a cutscene and upgrades the spear. This doesn't happen for me, I am in the quest and I interact where you enter the spear and it glows then dissappears. No upgrade and it just tells me to explore the cave and I can't get out?

    This happen anyone else?

There are other weapon upgrade forges in there, think you just need to explore/interact with the others ones first before the spear actually upgrades..

    Totally robbed from Reddit:

Is this the first time you go to the forge and you have other fragments from cult members?
Cause if it is, go outside after you upgrade it once. There will be a cutscene and after that you can go back inside and upgrade it again.
After the second upgrade you do, (to level 3) it takes 7 fragments to do the next upgrade.

Going outside can be hard, if you have the colours set it can be very dark to find the way back out.

The patch notes mention this specifically
Addressed an issue that prevented players from upgrading the Spear of Leonidas at the forge

Picked this up recently and having a bit of a love hate relationship with it - I really want to get in to it but I only seem to manage an hour an day before I get bored. Just finished
    Megaris
but I’m really not feeling any hooks yet. Shame because it’s a beautiful looking game but it all feels a bit samey if that makes any sense :)

Same, i couldn't get into it. There is a great game the but it just didn't hook me in, I'd turn it off after just a couple of missions to play something else. Traded it in and made a 3 euro profit do not too bad. I felt i wanted an AC game but got a Witcher style game of which it comes no where close to the witcher. Shame as the dlc looked really interesting and an absolute ton of content, disappointed i couldn't enjoy it more.

I'd say give it a while and get it again when it's dirt cheap. I had a few games like that, and on the second (or sometimes third) return I got hooked. As you said, there is a tonne of content and it's a beautiful looking game, and a joy to play imo. Still working on the DLC, but playing other games too, can't seem to stick to one lately.

I finished both of them and found the ending kinda bad, it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger

SAKE. Why do they hate good storytelling so much in recent years :(

I only started Atlantis one, the Blade on ended crap. Not sure how my Lesbian Cassandra got preggers but hey baby Jesus is there.

Yeah when it first came out there was huge uproar over it. I think they changed that ending so that it’s not for love but keeping the bloodline alive

That's sort of the modus operandi for the AC series.

I was really into this but for some reason haven't thought of going back to it after a month away... odd.

Actually perhaps its better they dont force you to buy the dlcs to get the ending. Ive read online that the atlantis storyline from the main is prob the canonical ending as it brings the certain character into the present day.

Yeah the Atlantis DLC basically expands on that ending but could easily be ignored as would be explained in the next game

Although I enjoyed the storyline, I have to admit that personally I feel like there's not really a connection between this game and the previous ACs.

Probably for the best, it went a bit mental after 3.

I do think it needs to come back to the assassin's storyline though. They've built up so much lore now that it would be such a shame to waste it.

    Snap.

The story is what held it all together. Without that, I'm just not as invested :(

Exactly. Origins had a great storyline which sort of led to the previous games' story. I'd say Odyssey is a great game if you like mythology and history with the combat mode AC has always offered, but I wouldn't necessarily consider it a truly AC game.

Playing AC3 thanks to the season pass. I thought Arno from Unity was the worst main character in the series but Connor easily takes that title now. Never have I come across a more annoying, whiny and unlikeabke character. Would have been much better to have played as Haytham the whole way through. Poor Edward Kenway must be turning in his grave knowing how much of an ads his grandson is!

And for a remastered version I'm still encountering a lot of bugs and glitches.

2012 - 2017 was a dark time in the AC series. There's a Middle Ages joke in there somewhere.

Honestly I feel that's half the reason that it's the first Assassin's Creed I've got into.

I like the game just not the character. Unity though was the only one where I lost the will to live. Quite liked syndicate.

AC2 black flag and odyssey are my favourite games in the series. Purists seem to consider the last two not proper AC games so perhaps im not a real fan of the series!

    They are wrong :D

Ac2 Brotherhood is the best of the lot character wise, but gameplay Origins and Odyssey are far and away the best.
