Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fantasy football

    I thought it would be a bit of fun to set up a fantasy football league for the posters of the ladies lounge - doesn't matter how you pick your team, or why you pick the players you want, its just a bit of fun!

    Anyway the basics are as follows - go to fantasy.premierleague.com, you pick a squad of 15 players from any of the teams in the English Premier League, made up of 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 strikers, with a max of three players per club. You can spend up to £100 m total on these 15 players. The players are awarded points, for examples for scoring a goal.

    To join the ladies lounge league, post your interest here and I'll send you on the code - I don't want to post it because I want it for tLL posters instead of random people coming in to join. I've it set to score from the next gameweek, so everyone that joins up before next Saturday will start from 0

    Oh fantastic idea! And as the points kick off from next week I won't have the handicap that the site freezing for two days gave me in the boards or the family league! :mad: :D

    I would have said bonkers too - but a few years ago I had much the same issue, used the wildcard (and there was only one a season back in them there days!) and went on to win the league by a country mile...so now I'm not so reticent tho you are right, week two is a few weeks early to gauge current form with any degree of accuracy.

    Yeah, of course! More the merrier!!

    Points only start from next week - so it doesn't matter how many points you have atm, we all start from zero!

    I know NOTHING about football, but this could be fun- do you need to know a lot about it to enjoy it? I used to play fantasy tennis, but at least I understood who was good and bad in that...

    It comes down to sheer luck a lot of the time - right subs in the right order, right captain, etc...there's a pundit and you can look at the players in order of value and form to get an idea of who to buy/pick for your team without having to watch Gary Lineker. :)

    No, I don't think there is any charge for the http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ ones - on a site this big I'd say there are dozens of leagues and different sites to chose from, mind you...

    AFAIK they do two over there, one that people pay in to and the top person at the end of the league gets the money and another one for anyone who doesn't want to pay/compete for money

    Righty, we had 11 people in the league, and I ended up fourth! My apologies for not keeping this thread updated, college life and school really got in the way. If everyone in the league could PM me their team name, I can make out the final results table - well done to everyone who took part, and to remember that you will automatically be entered into it in August when the season starts once again!

    Anyone interested in doing one for Euro 2012??
