Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

latest episode about the Australian girl was fairly dull and uninspiring.

Not really too sure what people are expecting. It's a true crime series. There'll be some dramatic ones but they're trying to tell real life stories about real events. I don't see much of a drop in quality at all, I must say.

If you take it in two parts, the disappearence/crime and then the investigation/trial (or lack thereof), sometimes I feel like the second part is not done as well as the first

I found that with the latest episode that was very much the case, I was intrigued by the first part but found the second somewhat rushed.

    Some episodes are like that

I find the multi episode ones don't suffer from that, they are very good.

the way the case is structured in terms of writing and narration delivery is what the podcast has control over and it's been a let down in this case imo

that latest drug addict murder case was dreary and dull (if a sad story) - the downswing continues.

Unsubscribed from Casefile. Just can’t get through the episodes anymore.

Yeah I have to agree. All murders have merit of course but it just wasn't a compelling story to listen to. It really seems to have gone downhill since new year. It's like he's jumped the shark and can't be arsed anymore.

peaked with the east area rapist and no crime compares since. love the podcast but the EAR series was some of the most gripping "entertainment" I've ever experienced

It's still streets ahead of some other podcasts that consist of endless audio clips which are very hard to hear, or narrators who are are just full of themselves, or interviews with people loosely connected with the case, -all just filler to extend the story. Casefile doesn't stoop to that kind of content. It's clear and to-the-point and builds the story up really well.
Maybe it has exhausted the more interesting cases. It's probably difficult to come up with rivetting cases for every episode.
I'll stick with it for the moment anyway as I feel it's quality podcasting compared to some of the other stuff out there.

whatever you say I detect a definite waning in the narrator's interest in terms of delivery.

I think this was one of the worse episodes ever (insert comic book guy meme).
    Nothing notewordy about it whatsoever.

Yeah I don't know how when they were researching it , they thought to themselves it would be a good listen. Not really a sympathetic character to use.

While I wouldn’t say they need a serial killer for an episode or series to be interesting...it certainly helps.

New one was great, in a shocking way, I don't remember saying 'F**K!!!' out loud during an episode before.

    A decent episode - yay!

    About time
I wonder what the real story with the church was here in terms of how early they knew something.

New one is mad. Very sad story, I remember hearing about it a few years ago. Great work by the Casefile team.

I agree with everyone, this weeks episode was a huge improvement on the last few weeks. Crazy stuff.

That was gripping. The poor family. Can’t fathom how the location wasn’t searched properly in the first place. Madness.

Next week's pod is horrific. Only 67 minutes long but is about a worldwide paedophile ring.

Thanks for the heads up will skip that. I’m still not right after the story of Riu Pedro on the Madeline McCann show on Netflix. :(

doesn't go into any disturbing detail thankfully - more about how they coordinated the operation on the online media distribution and the people caught.

I found it very interesting. It was like a shorter version of the Silk Road episodes. Well worth a listen.

Reason #209364 why Piers Morgan is a prick

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,068 ✭✭✭runningbuddy

The strip soccer gig she did for YouTube horrified me. Really thought those days were gone. I know she did it to "raise her profile " but it's awful. My world weary eyes were certainly opened to the world of influencers, etc.

I know piers is a bastard but there was a lot of unanswered questions re:this case,

There were intially, yes. Her kidnapper claimed it was a hoax and chloe refused to deny his claims as her publicist advised her to hold off commenting as he was organising an exclusive interview.

I watched the Piers Morgan interview, how the hell that horrible piece of shít keeps getting jobs on TV is beyond me. I thought she handled it quite well.

found this week's one weird, a glamour model getting kidnapped. strange one. I feel like they are running out of stories to cover.

wasn't the worst one I thought. there have been far more dull and boring ones done this year.

had heard of the case but was unsure until the end as to whether the girl was in on it or not so it had a bit of suspense.

I liked it too. I hadn't heard of it, and episodes with a bit of suspense are obviously always interesting.

Case 118 The Chicago Tylenol Murders
I didn't know much about the case before listening to the episode, but I had always presumed that the person responsible was caught. So the ending was a bit of a shock to me

Unsolved Murders podcast did a good two parter on it. Much more detail than the casefile one
