Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Gene Wilder - he’s a legend
Patrick Swayze One of my many teenage crushes
    Kevin Kline - funny fecker
Michelle Pfeiffer - I wanted to be her!

    Gene Wilder

    Bruce Willis

Rick Moranis ; one of my noms

    John Travolta

oh, a couple of unfortunate pairings in this one:

Louis Gossett Jr. - more interesting output in the 80s, I have associated Gene Wilder more with the 70s
Patrick Swayze - because Dirty Dancing
Kevin Kline - liked the roles/films he played more
Michelle Pfeiffer - some great roles for her in the 80s - Travolta had a big gap in the 80s with nothing significant to show

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

Gene Wilder - even though the 70s were more his decade he did star in 2 great movies alongside Richard Pryor
Bruce Willis - the decade that John McClane came along
    Kevin Kline - Oh look, it's K-K-Ken! C-C-Coming to k-k-kill me!
Michelle Pfeiffer - Travolta basically hibernated during the 80s although Blow Out was great

Gene Wilder (his partnership with Richard Pryor, some very funny films)

Patrick Swayze (hot sexy star of 80s and 90s, could sing and dance too)

Rick Moranis (the funny sidekick oddball)

    Michelle Pfeffier stunning actress

    More tough competitions here:

    Gene Wilder because he's quirky
Bruce Willis real tough one but he's better of the two
Kevin Kline because there's two of him, the serious one that's moustacheless and the crazy one who is moustached
Michelle Pfeiffer because she's so purty.

I’m gonna abstain. They’re both legends in their own right.
Anthony Michael Hall The coolest geek ever!
Bill Murray It’s that cheeky look he always has on his face
Eddie Murphy The 80s wouldn’t be the 80s without Eddie.

Michael Douglas - one of my nominations
Bob Hoskins - close one, will go with Bob Hoskins mainly for Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Harrison Ford - anothe tough one, but Harrison Ford ftw, another one of my nominations
Eddie Murphy - not his biggest fan, but his 80s output was really interesting.

Rutger Hauer - He deserves some love especially for the fantastic Roy Batty
Anthony Michael Hall - i enjoyed his movies more
Harrison Ford - this could have easily been the final, both are legends but Ford has the more memorable roles
Eddie Murphy - he was so funny in the 80s and had so many great movies

I will be more surprised with Harrison Ford getting knocked out in Round 1. 2 of the 3 Star Wars, The Indiana Jones trilogy, Blade Runner, Frantic, Witness, a very impressive list of roles in the 80s

Kathleen Turner - One of my nominations
Winona Ryder - not too fussed with either of them, voting Ryder for Beetlejuice
Danny DeVito - some great comedies in the 80s, one of the last cuts from my submitted nominations list
Tom Cruise - Another one of my nominations

Kathleen Turner - any other decade and it's Paul Newman
Winona Ryder - I don't care what else she did in the 80s, she was in Heathers and that's enough for me
Molly Ringwald - it wouldn't have been a proper John Hughes film without her
Tom Cruise - he's a jerk these days, but the 80s were his decade

Kathleen Turner - she’s just great
Winona Ryder - only up and coming at the latter half of the decade but I did like heathers.
Molly Ringwald Pretty in Pink is a fave of mine.
Tom Cruise - The outsiders Stay Gold
