Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Will Donegal see the worst of it? or less compared to other areas?

Looks like the worst of it will miss Donegal for a change, Galway through to Down/Louth seems to be the most intense although if you're near the coast it might get wild for a while between 3am and 6am.

Seems to be passing here now, nothing particularly extreme but at least its been a bit of excitement for the first time in quite a while

Wow, in North Dublin and that wind is so intense.

Very strong gusts for the last 30minutes or so intensifying in the last 5. Mullingar Automatic is reporting as to being not available now, I wonder if that was something to do with it.

Wind is absolutely mental here in Clontarf!

Some flights trying to land at dublin airport seem to be missing the runway due to the wind...

    http://www.flightradar24.com/ check out flight FR8012

    Looks like its diverting now.

Seen what looked like a couple of distant flashes of lightning when out the back about 30 mins ago. Either that or some sort of power source blew but lecky still on and winds have died down. No sferics pick up on ATD. Wonder is it possible that any lightning actually occurred at jet-stream level only?

PS, lightning (or whatever it was) seemed sourced to my north, over Mayo area.

Saw a flash here half an hour ago as well but assumed it was just lights flickering, reports a while ago by another poster as well of thunder in Galway although I haven't heard anything but wind all night

Jaysus wide awake here now for the last hour. Our roof is taking a battering and making some very loud bangs. :( I'm fairly sure we have some tiles off/damage.

Just constant lulls and then very very strong gusts. The noise is mental. Based in Rush in North Dublin.

Have to fecking drive to Galway first thing so could have done with a good nights sleep. :pac: Will also have to see if I can spot any roof damage in the morning before I leave. Have a feeling ill be coming back to a leak or two.

Looks like the fedex flight is in a hold as its circuling now.

They must expect it to die down.

United coming straight in for the approach must have higher tolerances than the old FedEx plane.

  • Registered Users Posts: 89 ✭✭mayfly757

Yeah company making their mind up to send them to Snn or bfs
