Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The coverage will start a bit earlier on BBC Two, then they switch channels just before the main start.

Dammit didn't know that, will miss the first half hour or so of the women's race, so hope it's a pretty uneventful start :)

Watched highlights of the Milan marathon last night....looked a bit grim; small support, wet day. Don't think I'll put in the list :)

Milan's not a hugely interesting city anyway, so you wouldn't be missing much.

Had to mute it halfway through; more talk of God than a Catholic mass.

Is there any Diamond League thread? And if not, would there be interest in one?

Sure set one up. Worst that happens is it falls off the front page

Great 3000m at Watford BMC last night with Irish interest at the top end. Darragh McElhinney broke our U20 record by 3 seconds, just shy of a sub 8 minute clocking, pushed all the way by a Brit international and Eoin Everard. Skip to 4hrs5mins on this link for the race

This seems to be going largely unnoticed here (along with the Euro u20/23s this summer)

    https://fisu.vhx.tv/videos/athletics-day-9-evening-session

Healy and Lawlor both making it to the final earlier today.

    Races @ 7 and 7.10 respectively

Edit: Sarah Lavin also making final (100mH) on at 7.35.

Molly Scott and Ciara Neville both in the final of the women’s 100m at the u23s.

Molly’s improvement on the flat in the last couple of years has been outstanding.

Definitely. 11.78 for her 3rd race of the day to qualify for the final in windy conditions

    Link for that stream here

2 in action in the 10,000m shortly (Campbell and Keane)

G'wan Marcus. Savage stuff to get bronze

Keane 29:01 for a PB. And all the pushing and shoving, in and out of lanes..

Great silver for Eilish Flanagan in the ladies steeplechase....a long way behind the German winner who was in a different league to the rest of the field. English girl who was in clear 2nd with a lap to go blew a major gasket and practically walked the finishing straight....

Watching the women's relay there and the order was all wrong.

How you have your fastest runner starting off when you have Molly Scott in the team baffles me. Nobody other than Molly should be the first leg in any team she's in. She's lightning!

To go with that having Akpe-Moses of all people on the first leg. Surely you need your fastest (which she is) running 2 or 4?

They got through but I can't help but think they'll leave a medal behind them with this order.

The first leg is the longest, so it makes sense to put your best runner first.

European Juniors starting this morning; many of the sessions live on Eurosport.

Plenty of medal potential in the Irish team.

Stumbled across this, guys....was there any fanfare or coverage on it? If so, I missed it....

Good bit of coverage, but locally more focussed on Mageean's performance in the same race.

    I just watched it there.....unreal

Only couple weeks back I watched a youtube video of the most difficult WRs to break, and this one figured highly.

Kate O'Connor leads after 3 events in the Heptathlon, 90 pts up on her NR schedule. Davicia Patterson third fastest qualifier in the 400m; the 800m women through.

    Mostly looking good.

Sarah Healy looked very comfortable in her 1500m heat. Sommer Lecky through to the HJ final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,190 ✭✭✭✭Pherekydes

O'Connor has a PB in the 200m, and lies 3rd overnight, only 22 pts off the lead. Her 2nd day is very strong. A great medal shot. She's 124 pts up on her record schedule, which might make her our first 6000 pt heptathlete.

She prob will go back to 4th after the long jump but should pass the brit and spanaird after the javelin. SBs will get her over the 6000 but still Gonna v tight for the medals
