Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm sure there's a nice lump of money for established bands, I'm not entirely sure how it works.

It took Ac/Dc ages to go onto Spotify and i think Oasis were the same. Theres a few artists who refuse to be on spotify including Cowboy Garth Brooks

Very good service remember the years of downloading songs and burning them too CDs. The ipod/mp3 player is going out of fashion fast

    Any musicians here ??

Remember years ago I was able too play guitar well but as the years went by lost interest and nowadays I'd struggle with a a G chord ha

Anyway always had it my head the Bass seems like a much easier option and any semi good bassist could make a living from it. Are my opinions on it wrong and is the bass more complicated then it looks ???

Personal post here (a lot doesn't make sense in which I apologise).

Guys and gals mental health is the most important thing ever. If u ever feel down talk to someone dont matter who. I had a great night in Dublin last night for Eddie Vedder but at about 4am I lost it and I mean lost it and I'm lucky to be here. Scary thing when tension hits me hard I can get physical and it's not fare on anyone too witness that. Professional help is needed for me and I dont want to live my life like this anymore. Not fare on my elderly dad.

I need too get it out there I'm an insomniac and a lot of my mental health suffers from that. I have a very low speaking voice and the word What can frustrate me. I prob think I can survive on 4 hours sleep a night but the fact is I'm probably doing more damage. I do workout and stuff which helps but prob not getting the full benefit from it due to lack of sleep. I went too the doc today and he prescribed me sleeping tablets and I'm hoping these work.

As much as I love my concert lifestyle I need to sort out other things in my life now. Bob Dylan/Neil young in Kilkenny is the next one and a happier PTH will be attendance please god. I'm almost 30 and its time to start acting that way and suck it all up

Gonna throw my own experience in a bit with this post but all I can say is that the best thing for anyone in a crisis is patience. Obviously it's an awful lot easier said than done and finding it can be a challenge. I had my own thing and finally something happened that made me think things would change. Looking back it was the idea that changes were coming that actually made the changes happen. Thankfully, again, I was only a danger to myself so the patience thing is easier to practice when you're not worried about causing damage to other people who don't deserve it.

Take it easy man, get some sleep and take it from there.
Medium/long-term, if you're drinking or anything else regularly you have to knock it on the head. No one thing is going to make everything better. You have to do everything you can to give yourself the best chance to get to a better place in your life.

(I would argue that being able to get good sleep is more important than talking to someone, it was for me, but that's just splitting hairs. :P )

Take care of yourselves guys :)

So I'm just back from over a month in the States, mix of work and pleasure. I got VIP access to see Alexisonfire in LA, Mastodon/Coheed and Cambria and Everytime I Die in Vegas and then the original Misfits, Distillers and Rise Against in LA again, it was amazing!

Something life changing happened there too, I was successful in getting an amazing job in Seattle so will be moving there later this year. Beyond excited for it even though I'll be leaving some great things behind here.

It was great, saw them last year in NJ but this time smashed that, Glenn was in great form and they played Come Back for the first time in over 40 years!

Fecking jealous of some of those bands, I'd love to see Alexisonfire, Rise Against (I saw them before but that was 3-4 albums ago), and Distillers.

    Congrats on the job!

    Thanks a million!

Alexis are my all time favourite band ever, I've seen them live 42 times and usually follow them on their tours. I know Dallas, Chris and Wade pretty well and email back and forth with them a lot so get some cool access to the shows.

I have a friend that over the last 25 years has seen Springsteen over 100 times live all around the world.

For years himself and the Mrs would book their holidays to travel and see him in concert.

Find some superfans highly annoying and some actually think there important and there egos explode

It's a fair achievement too follow a band around the world but it must get boring and repetitive

42 times over 15 years isn't all that much really. I base some holidays around it and went all over Australia, New Zealand and Canada seeing them too so made it pretty interesting.

I've seen Springsteen a few times myself over the years and the one thing I will say is he gives value for the price of his ticket.

I tried to get to see him on Broadway last year when I was in the States he was sold out and couldn't afford the tout prices for the tickets that were going for crazy money.

    + 1

There is talks of him touring alone, intimate smaller venues for Western Stars album, any Irish venue he would sell out

With this Area 51 stuff going around and the planned deff going ahead or being successful tbh

What do u believe is actually there ??

Imo dont think its Aliens or anything that mad. Can't see something that possible in real life. Would love to be proven wrong but no

I just think it's a testing area for the US Military

The fact staff have too stay silent about what they saw in there is interesting ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,890 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

About 30 people will turn up for that invasion of Area 51.

Everyone in the know knows the Aliens are in Area 52 anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,221 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Supposedly it's just a giant storage facility for the military and that's it.

I remember reading that some people think the real freaky stuff is hidden in the NORAD base in Cheyenne Mountain.

Dude, have you watched any of the Bob Lazar stuff? Very interesting.

I'll put it to you this way. Our Milky way has billions of stars. Now, our own sun is a star, and it has 9 planets (Pluto is still a planet to me dammit) revolving around it. One of which is friendly to life. So, if there are billions of stars, each with a complement of planets, in out own galaxy, and there are (as the saying goes), more galaxys than grains of sand on all the beaches in the world, is it not pretty arrogant of the human race to assume that we are the only ones out there?

I do think that the US has some of these vehicles. They've reverse engineered some of the tech, which explains the huge leaps and bounds we've experienced technologically in the past 100 years.

As for aliens, i think myself these "little grey men" are drones. They don't require sustenance, can't reproduce etc. Regardless of the speed that these UFOs can supposidly travel at, the distance between stars is still vast. And not something living beings could endure. It would take literal generations (not even just lifetimes) to travel

If anyone is curious about Werewolf, the game you might often see PW posters like Necro or Beakerjoe talking about, the new big monthly game is starting soon and it is the first one I am running.

The Sign up thread is open for another 2 days if anyone is interested in signing up. This month's theme is Batman but you don't need to know much about Batman to play, it is just for flavor.

If your interested in signing up, pop your name down here with a simple "I'm in" or something similar.

Don't worry if you feel like you won't have a clue what's going on at first having not played before, we have all been there and sure that can be a lot of fun too. Think JP Liz was one of the most recent PW posters to give it a try, but there have been loads of people from here in games there, LoughC, LordTSC etc

Even IF there was aliens in Area 51 they are long moved to a different facility loooong before it became famous.

But there was no aliens it’s only a testing facility for government spy planes.

With my impending move to the States, it looks like I'll have to sell off my huge wrestling DVD collection (about 3k titles!).

I wonder am I better to sell off in bundles or individually? Have some on ebay at the moment anyway to see. WWE ones worth feck all but my ROH/TNA ones seem like they could fetch decent prices.

Will get a list together and throw on Adverts too I guess.

Again at a loss at what you mean, the modding on boards in general is fairly relaxed, majority of times when there is intervention it's to stop a thread de-railing or to stop a potential libel issue for boards.ie.
