Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
I have a problem with McAfee when I preform a scan. It gets stuck at 99% and the only way to exit the scan is to go to task manager and end the process a number of times. It is not getting stuck at the same file because I was scanning my computer with an external hard drive connected and it got stuck scanning a file on the external hard drive. Then I decided to scan the computer with the external hard drive not connected and it still got stuck at 99%. The laptop is new and is running Windows 10. I am not sure what version of McAfee I have but expect it to be one of the newer ones.

Make sure there is no conflicting files, you should only have one security software for that computer. If removing other software wont fix this problem, you should uninstall McAfee compaletely by using the MCPR Tool

I agree, use MCPR tool to completely uninstall Mcafee, it won't easily get with just simply uninstalling it. :)

I had the same problem, though usually in the 40s 60s or 99% marks. I believe I found what was causing my issue. I'm scanning a bunch of old/archive drives. Some of these drives had Mozilla Firefox browser cache and profiles in them. Here's where I devolve into the story.

I took a drive that failed constant scan attempts at 99% over a 3 day period (annoying!). I read the Mcafee support page and got tired of the same Mcafee excuse "we're working on it" and decided to investigate for myself. I started by scanning folder by folder off of the root of the drive and many were scanning successfully. Then, I found a folder that caused it to get stuck (all the others worked fine). Then I drilled down on that folder off of the root, scanning subfolder by subfolder until I found the folder/file that was causing the issue. It was "startupCache.4.little" from a Firefox that was causing the issue.

I chose to find it and delete it because it looks like it gets recreated when needed, and in my case, I don't need this cache file anymore for that profile - remember, these are hundreds of archive drives. I am not telling you to delete it. I'm telling you what worked for me (so far). Since finding the issue and pre-emptively deleting that file on every drive before a scan, I've been successfully scanning disks without getting stuck and without having to go folder by folder.
