Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've imported hundreds upon hundreds of items from outside of Europe, most in excess of the import duty free threshold amount and only ever got charged twice. (and they were both in Airsoft guns so not exactly easy to miss!)

I wish. They always **** me over with the insanely expensive stuff.

Still not financially recovered from buying Gimmick from Japan.

Perhaps the most annoying thing is that certain charges are made including postage! And then the minimum 10 euro for an post too.

Seriously kills the idea of getting stuff from Japan unless you can get stuff drastically marked down. But then that's a risk too.

I recently bought something from New Zealand and the dude agreed to lower it's "value" to like 20 quid. But now, if the thing goes AWOL or is smashed to bits, I'm left high and dry. Bit nervous about it now.

    So, risky or expensive :/

there was always "less risk"(although junk listing & dodgy descriptions are a bit more prevelant these days, ng aes "expensive games" had been the main one for years to be carefull on so i never had to worry :pac: ) with stuff from japan than private sellers worldwide.
my mindset has changed to factor in those costs and if its still a good price then all good.

+1 the fees on postage and used goods really bugged me but i've had years to come to terms with it, just :(

not as much anymore ,years ago nothing got pulled, it seems, but over the last 2-3 years I've had more requests for invoices etc than ever and i'm buying **** all these days so puts a real damper on any bargains you think your getting

    21% on about 400 euro.

What mad it worse was Sauron was around to pick it up so got an angry call about landing the mammy with a bill!

Think my MSX2 got snared as well.

One of the things I did have stopped, had a value of about 250 euro.

They contact me asking for an invoice as they couldn't value it to calculate the tax.

I bought it on Ebay (where prices vary wildly, as you know), so sent them a photo of the completed auction.

The number shown on the final bid may have looked slightly different in the photo to the actual final number bid due to a shine on my screen at the time.

    ...

Rather amazingly though, they didnt charge me any import duties. :pac:

Seems yea could get one from the UK for €300 + ParcelMotel - https://ebay.us/OIbJhW
An extra €200 for the convenience of picking it up in Dublin? Prob not worth that

For 80 euro its not too bad for a decent selection of games and what looks like a relatively good looking spectrum zx +2....assuming it even works.

    Nice find, weird sideways photography!
Games are nothing to write home about, good few cover tapes and games that sell for less than a pound, (the Giants compilation is around the three pound mark) but the +2 looks in good nick and It's not insanely over the top price wise, which makes a nice change from people looking for mad money for a bog standard Spectrum.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Exactly, some fun games there too, nice bundle for someone looking to start a collection or purely just for a nostalgia trip.

Could probably negotiate that 80 down a little too if you wanted

We don't know if it works though.
I'd buy the thing, if it powered on, the seller doesn't seem to know.
Also, it's collection only and I don't know about driving all the way to Laois for it.

My concern was the lack of info on the ad, he either don't know much or he's masking the fact there's issues with it

Threw a few bits on Adverts:

PS3 Games (some nice ones, some meh) - https://www.adverts.ie/playstation/playstation-3-games/20638662

    x2 Arcapde1up Cabs (Streetfighter 2 & Rampage) - https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/arcade1up-cabs-x2/20638562

And a hard one to price here, PS3 Resident Evil HD (Asian version, not Japanese) new & sealed. There's only one on ebay.com that I can see, with most being either used or regular Japanese copies - https://www.adverts.ie/playstation/resident-evil-hd/20638550

I wouldn't have thought there's much scope left for a price increase is there? 325/2=162.5 each, which I thought was fair but not reseller-bait? Maybe I'm wrong?

You aren't factoring in one thing - the numerical multiplier that is being a profiteering scrote.

Once you do that then the sky is the limit when it comes to prices ;)

In all seriousness though, I thought you were pretty on the ball with those prices. They get no use at all in the end, no?

I had a bit of a feeling they might become the new clothes horse in most households.

I tried pricing them on Adverts but there were none (strange really), so I just priced them on what I felt they were worth. I paid €400 for both in that GameStop offer a few years back...so figured a €75 loss over two years isn't bad going.

Zero use whatsoever. They're just a novelty item really. You could put some money into them with better controls, internals, scanlines, etc....but at that rate you'd be as well buying the real thing.

    350 each at a minimum.

The person who submitted the first offer, his/her has ads up for crazy prices, 300 for a dusty couch that was described as an attic find?

I've dropped the price of the uncommon Resident Evil Remaster for PS3 (didn't get a physical release here or the US...and it's not the Biohazard version either, so it's not common) - https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/resident-evil-hd-rare-ps3-physical-copy/20781851?notification=6b2b052e541df2925fa0f47987166c95-1593067682 - open to reasonable offers on it

I've split the Mini's up into separate ads:

    Famicom Mini - https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/nintendo-famicom-mini/20772859
    Super Famicom Mini - https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/nintendo-super-famicom-mini/20772895

Have dropped the price on the remaining PS3 games here - https://www.adverts.ie/playstation/playstation-3-games/20638662 - again, open to offers

Can’t see the picture but if it’s a taito cocktail it’s a 13” toei, a 14” will fit fine too though, you can pick up a tube from a old portable and match the yoke with a Chassis

Ah cool cheers for that, yeah it's a taito so must be 13, bezel looked bigger but I'll give it a measure when I get home

Not exactly a bargain (though there is some Adverts tax applied), but I've listed a CiB Sony Vita which is on firmware 3.60 and Henkaku is installed (jailbroken). It's the 1st gen OLED model too...and comes with an SD2VITA adapter so you can use microsd cards with it....pretty much the ultimate Vita setup!

    https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/sony-vita-jailbroken-complete-in-box/20796927

Again not exactly 'bargains' per se, but interesting items for some:

3DS XL - Link Between Worlds Limited Edition - https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/nintendo-3ds-xl-zelda-lbw-limited-edition/20801142

"New" 3DS XL - Majora's Mask Limited Edition (with ambassador cert and accompanying games installed) - https://www.adverts.ie/arcade-retro/nintendo-3ds-xl-zelda-majora-s-mask-limited-edition/20801229

Obviously open to reasonable offers them (they're awkward to price given condition etc)

Not a massive bargain but an arcade cab ready to go for €650, surely some wiggle room to get that down to €500.
Not to bad for the beginners games room.
