Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would the weather in Dublin over the past hour indicate a squall line?

Well that gust nearly took the roof off (cavan/meath border)

Galway and especially Salthill should be interesting around 5.30 with the high tide, its sure to come over the promenade with this wind.

Sun is out again in north meath, wind has decreased a bit since the rain earlier

It is raining sideways here in Donegal now! Haven't seen rain like this for a long time, wind picking up again. Currently on the third floor of the house, thinking of retreating to the basement!

Same here in west Kildare. No leaves left to see. 1001mb and 10.8c @1630

Notice it starting to feel colder now winds fairly calm now in Galway so flooding in Salthill shouldn't be a problem

1600 Reports Malin Head 64 knots . nice gust!

I thought this was going to make England a bit more unsettled than it has. Did it track further west? Not even a recorded gust here in Bedfordshire, just a mild breeze.

Its a bit further northwest than progged yesterday, Bedfordshire was unlikely to see much more than a strong breeze in any case.

East Galway atm, its completely calm, not even a breeze.

My station in Tullow recorded a top gust of 87km/h at 12:48

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,207 ✭✭✭✭Oscar Bravo

64 knots at Malin head at 1600 is likely to be the strongest gust that will be recorded. winds from now on will just be blustery in and around showers. Showers along the west coast will have lightning.

The rain hasn't really hit here in Mullingar. There was a heavy shower earlier about half 3 but there was a lot of strong winds from 4pm, still going now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,230 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Nothing major here in west clare. Several squally showers and heavy winds from 14:00-15:00 but thats about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,101 ✭✭✭squarecircles

The crazy rain from earlier today, the quality isn't great, and the orientation is wrong, but you get the idea.

Nothing happening in West Galway. Colder than recent days - around 7C.

  • Registered Users Posts: 272 ✭✭Padster90s

Yeah, wasn't much but it made for a change from recent weather! Wouldn't mind some thunder to round the day off.

Non event for most of country? Was a squally day here but nothing out of the ordinary for November.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,970 ✭✭✭Storm 10

Gone calm in Galway now, it was just an ordinary gale really nothing out of the ordinary for us here, is that it now as looking at the forecast after the 6 news she said damaging gusts tonight. Cant see where they are going to come from.

66 kts is only 75 mph that can't be hurricane speed as we have often had 80 mph winds and no mention by ME of a hurricane, all day they said Storm 10

Heavy rain with a good bit of hail here for the last 20mins. Just need some thunder to finish the night off!

Yes but that was just gusts in a Catergory 1 Hurricane that would just be the minimum sustained winds imagine that:pac:

That's gusts. It needs to be sustained wind above 64 knots for hurricane force.

That's just a light breeze for them, they don't consider it windy unless it hits above 100km :)

It wasn't too bad here in Newport, a few strong gusts but nothing major. The rain was relentless for a few hours but cleared up nicely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,101 ✭✭✭squarecircles

More thunder and lightning activity on the mayo coast just now, hail and gusty winds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,597 ✭✭✭corsav6

Just a calm night here in Newport so far, a slight breeze picking up from the SW so I'd say it won't be long until we get it.

Its relatively gentle winds up here in the NW.

No sign of any storm, yet.

it was wetter and windier around tea time.
