Im trying to find parts for my 91 1.8diesel Ford escort van, its a preserved Fire Van and must have had the b****x driven out of it as it needs the whole gearstick selector box and a drivers side drive shaft. Any help would be fantastic as i have been looking for a while with no luck.

    Hi

Do you still have your Hoverhawk HA5?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31 dillontobin

yes i do but the hover hawk is not for sale im just looking for a velocet engine for it.one of only 14 left in the world

    Hello Dillon Tobin,

we echanged info on your engines and i did not get around to repling.

the info you gave is somewhat confusing to me.

Assuming you mean velocette rather than velocet as you spell it, there are three options for your missing engine, and a close up photo of either of your remaining ones should reveal this.

the velocette LE had a water cooled 200 cc engine, it powered what was nicknamed the "noddy Bike" and thousands of them were used by the British Police. engines can be found at a reasonable price.

bigger velocette engines are in possibly 250 cc ,very old, and def in 350 and 500 cc single cylinder ,air cooled form, and had overhead camshafts and will be hard to get /expensive. They were last made in 1965 i think.

If you google velocette engines you can view pictures of them. I just did but dont know how to attach them.

    regards Rugbyman

    Dillon Tobin

All of my info is useless to you. I have just googled the Hover Hawk and found, as you may have already that the engine you seek is from a Velocette Viceroy scooter, an air cooled twin cylinder,

this will be difficult to find , the numbers made were low.

    Regards Rugbyman

Anybody interested in a Ford Capri project?

    I've got an '82 1.6 GT4 on offer.

It's an original Irish car which needs a bit of work, & in the right hands would make a cracking little car.

I'd love to complete this restoration, but working on short-time & the recent arrival of a small person have made this impossible for me to do in the immediate/medium term.

Anybody willing to take this on (for small money), send me a PM, thanks.:)

    Wondered where that car went.
A bloke near me owned that a few years back.

Almost considered buying it for the novelty value.
