Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I saw that on it's final approach, from baldoyle, glanced at fr24 and didn't see anything. I decided it must be the air corps casa as from where I was it had similar silhouette, but I did think it looked a bit big. So, basically, I haven't a clue what it was!

Belting along here, 760mph. Serious jet stream assistance. Is that as fast as it gets?

VLJ505X giving some crazy readings and an about turn over the Midlands just now, was heading North-North-East out of France, currently heading for Wexford. Readings show a loss of altitude, and a climb back. Sure hope that’s an instrumentation error.

I searched that flight number and it shows a perfectly normal-looking flight out of Knock heading SE??

Folks, I saw 2 light aircraft in close formation heading north east close to Blakes Cross/Lusk direction at 1609 today. Nothing on flight radar when I looked. They weren't PC9's from the air corps as they looked like high wing light aircraft.

    Any ideas?

If the Dublin weather is clear tomorrow, there might be an opportunity to get high altitude photos of a 787BBJ around noon.

There has always been a huge amounf of Mil traffic over the UK, it is very active, even on the weekends, Flightradar24 has a terrible habit of not showing Military, your best bet is to use ADS-B.

The Virgin A350 is back in Dublin from Heathrow this morning.
Why are they using this aircraft on such a short route?

I'm surprised that Google's project Loon is still going. I thought by now, it would join the list of other products and ideas they've tried and then killed off.

They killed it off a few weeks ago, but I’m not sure if they gave a final date.

Why would Aer Lingus send an A330 to London and back {EI 179}. Not that busy is it ? They did it on the 8th of March too. Just curious !

That's been happening for months - to carry extra cargo, I think.

I was wondering that myself. I thought it might have been to allow passengers actually socially distance whilst onboard.

    Almost certainly for cargo capacity

Thats just an added benefit (it is done I believe). There should have been 14 or 15 A330s crossing the Atlantic each direction each day if not for COVID, now there's 2. All that cargo needs to get to the states via LHR with BA now.

I was talking to a chap working for Lufthansa and he said they were rotating all their planes so they wouldn’t clock up the houses to require major service work. Wonder if that has any influence.

Maintenance schedules, leasing ts & cs, power by the hour contracts etc will all feed into it. Rolls Royce are suffering particularly badly right now, power by the hour was their baby and they're very heavily exposed as a result.

Yeah, he reckoned it was going to be September this year when it was going hit the fan, if things didn’t open during the summer again. It’s a pity really, I’ve already met an aircraft engineer from Shannon out of work. As in job gone, not just on Covid payment

This flight seems to be happening often always off the coast of Waterford and following the same pattern.

    BIO02 from Chester https://fr24.com/BIO02/2716c044

It's some sort of survey flight, anyone know what they are looking for.

There's a Qatar A330 on its way from Chateauroux to Dublin. Any idea why? A new plane for Aer Lingus?
