Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi McBrowne-yes-DH had only Dublin down. As a point of info he was lower down the software panel (24th) than the infrastructure one (15th) so assuming they are proceeding with the software panel first.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm only on the software panel but not in Dublin.

Hi, good to see a bit of movement in the software queue. Does anyone have experience of these types of situations?. With 20 or so people getting that email from agriculture, does that mean that they need that amount of new staff or will they go through the applications and pick out who they want for a smaller number of vacancies?

Do you mean sent to the Garda for clearance?

No, they have been given a position with Garda and will start in about 12 weeks time.

That sounds promising for people above 30 on the OOM. I presume those Garda jobs are in HQ in The Phoenix Park.

No message for me, but my HR department in PER is asking...odd questions about if my manager knows I'm on an Ag panel, and what my current workload is like. Seems to indicate they've been contacted. Going from one Dept to another requires me to be released, rather than simply hired I think.

You're on the move so! Similar for me and I had my assignment to a regional location outside Dublin confirmed by PAS last Friday. Just have to wait for the receiving Department to sort out a date, presumably with my current one.

I'm the same as you both im in the houses of the Oireachtas next door... I wonder since we are already civil servants they don't have to do Garda clearance again? Just like you said both HRs contact each other and organise the move time that suits both departments

Do you mind me asking what region you have been placed in?

When I came in originally to PER, there was a bit on the form that said clearance was only for folks not already in the civil service. I haven't seen something similar for this campaign, but I'd assume that's still the case.

Did you contact AG and ask about the job?

Yeah and I was told they have loads of EOs starting, they are trying to get them in as soon as possible, was told you generally start about a month after clearance. Personnel said they would get the PO in IT to give me a call and talk about the role... he never called But I wasn't really expecting him to call.

    Just sitting tight now.

I got the call today from Agriculture HR they asked when I can start. They told me my line managers name and where I'm going in agriculture, they were looking for me to start asap. They are sending the contract in the post now. I'm 17th on the software stream. Looks like I'm starting any week now. Anyone else heard anything?

    Well done 🤓

    Anyone heard on infrastructure yet?

Regarding the infrastructure, a friend of mine on the infrastructure panel contacted PAS about it and he was told at the moment there were no vacancies available for his preferred locations. He didn't pick Dublin as one of his locations so he was told it could be a while before anything happens. It seems the priority is focused on the software development panel for now. I imagine Dublin will have vacancies for infrastructure but when that will happen is anybody's guess!

Which dept. have you been assigned to for software?

Same as myself. Were you told which team you would be joining?

i've not had any further details yet and i've just emailed PAS earlier for an update. I would not be happy if i was offered something that does not meet the definition of software development or involves the use of some outdated skills. I'm anxious to know exactly what the job will entail.

I think you might get better information from the Agriculture HR deparment

How long does it take to get an offer, after they ask to contact your current employer for reference? I'm in the software development stream list.

Is anybody else under consideration for role within dept? I'm not sure, if I'm in competition with others for the same role.

I think the under consideration is just pending vetting and all your paperwork being in order. Don't quote me on that but I'm currently contracted in Dept of Business and that's the info I've been given by the civil servant's there.

Thanks for the reply frostface. I presumed so, but wasn't sure. It's a long process. Still waiting for them to contact me. Well done with getting a contract.

Thanks mate. I'm sure you'll be hearing from them soon enough. To be honest, the part about under consideration got me too. I want to celebrate but that's thrown me because it indicates that it's not a done deal until there's a contract in front of me. The info I'm being given though is that really it's just a formality at this stage.

I haven't said anything about the job to anybody yet. I guess everybody that entered the civil service went through the same tip toe process. Hopefully they will get back soon and the celebration can begin.

Me neither havent said anything in my current job yet. Not sure on location of role know it will be in Dublin. They say they dont contact current reference until all other steps of clearence are completed which is fair. Also heard that under consideration means just a formality.

If it's DSP infrastructure, it could be the data centre on Con Colbert Rd Kilmainham.

Anyone else hear for any departments?

I got a text from PAS the other day asking me to check my messages so I got quite excited but it turned out to just be an invitation to complete a survey on their recruitment process. Although it did alright getting 19th in OOM, I selected 4 Irish midlands locations (Westmeath, Offaly, Laois & Longford) so not getting my hopes up too much about hearing anything really anytime in the near future although the original advert did mention that posts in Laois were to be expected.
