Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surprisingly easily done on speed bumps and they don't take a bump well as the welds tend to crack. A cracked sump isn't major damage it's just going to be very expensive on a Lamborghini as most repairs are an engine out job and then you have to wonder how far they drove before they realised they'd bust the sump.

I used to drive a 5 series which liked to go into limp mode at the first sign of frostbite, I’d imagine the Lamborghini lit up like Christmas once it start losing oil.

As far as I know, any raffles which do not have a charitable purpose aren’t legal in Ireland.

There were amendments to the gaming and lotteries act discussed in the Seanad before Christmas but I don’t know if that bit was changed recently.

They have a section where they mention the Charities they have funded, its small amounts and probably covers them from a legal standpoint.

They do seem to be legit though, I know someone who won a BMW m4 and have heard info on the Lambo

But they are essentially second hand cars with no warranty and your liable for VRT etc.

Wont stop me from entering some of their smaller draws, missed out on a 695 entry draw for an Evo 7 which would have been nice odds!

True although I believe the christmas tree is a standard feature on a Lamborghini. :D Nothing would surprise me with it I'd say that cars had a hard life. I remember hearing it being driven and I'd say it's not a long way off needing a clutch, it shifted like a bag of spanners. Talking big money for those kind of things.

No luck, 5series or 2 Audis is the push today, spent my quota for the month so not interested

Yeah you could easily get hooked. Have to give myself a limit too.

One car draw and a few 5euro phone and laptop draws per month, know of people spending hundreds a month,

I'm giving this a go as I've never won a sausage on Rkings

    https://fdr-rafflemasters.ie/product/winner-decides-bundle-rangerover-or-a7/

Who are the main competitors of Rkings?

Hard to know, FDR have a garage so they can put up good vehicles and as mentioned they will be VRT'd for you.

There is a Bear crowd too but I don't personally go near them anymore, have entered their Truck comps in the past, but just on the winners section on the site, the amount from Tyrone and Derry is staggering to me, but it could be just pure luck

McKinney comps usually have nice stuff too, Don't know of a winner from them, but I purchase an odd ticket there, like the 2019 7 berth motorhome that's currently up there at present and there is a Ferrari there too or £130K cash instead.

Nice Evo 6 on Ooosch at present too, had a white 2001 VI in the past so I purchased a ticket for her. And just incase anyone doesn't deal with them. Herself won a drone about a month ago with them. Delivered asap and all, no hassle, and yes that's the same lucky bird that won the X5 on RKings in June. I wouldn't mind only I would probably outspend her by 4:1 and she wins. In fairness I guess the stuff she usually puts a bid on is wont £5

I see some gang are raffling a De Lorean. Saw it on FB earlier. Can't remember the company name. Hadn't heard of them before.

McKinney are genuine at least, personally know a fella won a Sakhir Orange M3 from them... To sit beside his E92 M3

Surely it would be easy enough to fix 1 or 2 "raffles " a month, easily bring in ~50k

I agree no doubt winners but as you said easy to fix a few

R Kings don’t need to fix them anyway, they are raking it in as it is.

A few of the people draw even if they don’t sell out, not sure how that would work with making money.

Similar concept to below cost selling by large shops I suppose, keeps people coming through the door.

They don't want draws stagnating on their site, if they are showing new draws all the time it will keep people interested.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,586 ✭✭✭sasta le

How can you find the slow selling draws?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,910 ✭✭✭begbysback

I see the ticket cost has gone down and the entry numbers gone up, makes sense I guess, anyways haven’t dipped in for a while but I’m back dreaming again, m3 would be nice, just waiting on the call now.

Sounds dodgy but I did see a De Lorean at Innishannon a few years ago, a really cool car. I'd imagine it was made famous in the back to the future movies.

Thank your lucky stars it wouldn't be the Honda that was shoddily done up to look like one in a Wexford car dealership for years.... Think that's where it was, they were selling it on Adam advertising vehicle which would draw loads of attention..... Yeah right...

Company name is CM competitions. If R Kings had it, the raffle would have sold out in a few hours. The DeLorean is up for days & only 170 tickets sold out of 2110. Slow seller.

So where a draw has a timer counting down and a max ticket amount, I assume they just push out the timer if the tickets haven't sold well?

Lad I've been working with the last 5 years took a call today and it was his 19 year old son telling him he'd won a 2016 vw golf and 2 grand!! Lovely looking car (white).

I got a sponsored ad on the facebuke for "DD competitions" for a 2020 Ford Ranger Wildtrack with 5k for VRT...€25 per entry with a max of 3000 entries lol

I think they would be better off doing cars, that attract very little VRT , like bmw 330e, 530e etc...

McKinney raffling a Ferrari 488GTB now

Yeah, I can't see too many people stumping up €25 with crap odds just to look like a council worker

They pulled the Tesla for some issue with the car itself, and automatically transferred the entry over to the Ferrari. With an opt out, of course.

Are there new duties / tarrifs for UK imports in Jan to the south in Jan and will it impact on these UK draws?

How much extra will have to be paid ?

I would imagine it will be treated the same as importing a vehicle from Japan. You will have to pay Duty, VAT and VRT..... Might be better to take the cash alternative (if they offer one).

    Possibly VAT to be added.

Cahir Gardai observed a vehicle fishtailing conducting a dangerous manoeuvre outside the town in front of one of our patrol cars. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of Dangerous Driving and has been charged to court
