Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where did I defend/condone the woman's misdemeanor? The questions I asked (yet to be answered by anyone who has responded to me) was why was there a thread on this and is there to be a thread on every single person who appears in court on a misdemeanor?

I was going to reply to your earlier message but I didn't see the point but here goes Margaret put herself in the public eye a few months ago now.
She's being active on social media, in print media and even appeared on TV and has made several interesting statements in this period. So, of course they'll be public interest in this woman and a thread might be created.

Do you not find it ironic that a woman who bleeds the state of €50k a year while standing on a street screeching that they are 'robbing' her goes and robs a shop? Do you see the hypocrisy?

People in glass houses ANY house shouldn't throw stones LOL :o

Peter Casey is doing an OB outside Penny’s this evening.

Think he wants to see if there’s any stables out the back that could House Margaret, her kids and the stash of gear.

She's not alone in not being a 'model citizen' if that's your criteria. As for bleeding the state dry - I think you'll find she receives what she's entitled to, if you don't agree with the social welfare system, that's a different matter entirely.

I've no doubt Mr Casey has been the beneficiary of quite a bit of corporate welfare in his business dealings in Ireland, the US and Australia but he's rich, welfare for the rich is fine!

Maybe the travellers should get a consistent story together

In a statement released on behalf of the Traveller families, they deny demanding stables or "paddocks" from the council and say they agreed to move to the houses if "grazing land" was provided for their horses.
So if grazing land was provided

    https://www.rte.ie/news/presidential-election/2018/1018/1005086-presidential-election/

Long way from the McCarthys said originally

However, the Travellers living across the road say they will not be occupying them unless two stables and at least half an acre of land are included behind each dwelling for their horses.

They were to be built with a half-acre behind each house, with two stables,” Philip McCarthy, one of the residents of the site at Cabragh Bridge, said at the weekend. “They [Tipperary County Council] changed it to a group project, like a mini-housing estate. The agreement was two stables and a half an acre for the horses, but they never came up with that.”

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/breaki...es-874178.html

    The McCarthys specifically mentioned stables

When it was was put to him that Pavee Point said the family did not want the council to give it the land, rather to rent it,

    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/poli...asey-1.3666390

Big change from They were to be built with a half-acre behind each house, with two stables to renting the extra land

Me think the media and the travellers in question are trying to change the narrative as they have turned down €1.7 million in houses and it looks terrible

Demanding half and acre of land behind each house and stables.

Now they are changing the narrative

Casey is right to call them out on their BS

I'd be amazed if anything more than a tiny percentage of travellers are registered to vote.

Doesn't stop them claiming and complaining though.

No article from TheJournal.ie on it either - Every other major Irish news source has posted a story on this now.

Given the narrative they try to spread that is unsurprising. On the articles about Ms. Cash from this summer when the Garda station incident happened they deleted at least 50% of comments on articles about it including any that questioned her lifestyle or pointed out her posts on Facebook showing her spending 100s-1000s on anything but accomodation in the month leading up to that event.

****ing magic!!! Get it right ****ing up yas, apologists for blood-sucking, parasitic, work-shy, thieving leeches everywhere.

Hang your heads in shame anyone who defends this layabout!!

I’m voting for Casey next week. I don’t really give a sh1t who the president is within reason.

He probably won’t win (he might though), but a good turnout voting for him (particularly from his starting position of 2%) will show the media and public figures what the decent, hard working, working classes of Ireland think of special status and recognition being given to a chunk of the population whose vast majority engage in theft, intimidation, tax evasion, animal cruelty, misogyny amongst much more!! And they expect us to pay for that.

Well she has her annual trip to court sorted for this year.
300 worth of clothes from penny's? Did she try walk out with a trolley full to the brim?

    Ah come on now.
she has to replace all those school uniforms that the kids had to wear when they slept in the Garda Station.

Speaking of which Penneys are probably lucky that she and her 6 kids didn't just decide to camp there for the night.

I do notice most of the plebs over in the thread lambasting that fine honest speaking Mr Casey aren't over here telling us all how put upon the poor travellers are and how racist we all are.

"Probably the bravest traveller woman in Dublin today" reads the tag at the top of the video.

Maybe should change it to read

"Probably the brassiest necked traveller woman in Dublin today"

Not that brass last long in the environs of travellers.

I am not allowed discuss …

Indeed and the charge was spot on and irrelevant to the misdemeanor she was in court for.

The state/government not you - don't be so narcissistic.

The Casey statements are no such thing they are an attempt by a failing presidential candidate to win a bit of support. The buffoon hadn't the courtesy to even speak to the people in Tipperary he condemned, typical coward.

It was committed by the same person! I don't know how it could be more relevant.

Yes the state is me. The state is me and everyone likes me that pays in. Because what a lot of whingers in this country do not realise is that the state doesn't actually have a brass bean. It has nothing only what we pay in taxes and what it borrows against our future taxes. It is all on our backs. I wish more people were mindful of this - it is a simple fact that should be taught up and down the country in civics classes. There is no magic money bag.

What Casey was condemning was the ludicrous situation around refusal to move into the houses as offered. He called them out, which is something more of our public bodies and indeed individuals should start doing.

I don't support anybody blocking MFPM. Shouting down people is stalinist lefty behaviour. Thought bubbles are unhealthy. I disagree with their opinion but never with their right to express it.
