Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think its absolutely hilarious how many people he has triggered with his heel shtick. I thought it was too obvious to succeed when he first started, but it has worked like a dream. Good for him.

Ah yes, "triggered" not just people who think the WWE schtick is inane ****e.

Both have the stamina for 5 rounds, both have the take down defence to nullify the other, and neither is a particularly good striker.
    Usman is a serious striker.

    No, he's not.

He has volume and some power, but he's sloppy as fook.

Nah, 2 lads throwing jabs for 5 rounds.

Well its worked well enough to make you struggle to articulate just how much you want to see him destroyed. Job done.

"inane" it may be but clearly its worked on you like a charm.

This is a lot better than I was expecting.

10-9 Colby but hard to argue a draw.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,056 ✭✭✭darced

    Great round, Colby close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Well Covington has a huge weakness, he didn't like the shot to the stomach. Usman should focus on that, it'll open up opportunities.

That wasn't below the belt. Very sneaky.

I did not expect this fight to look like this.

This is an incredibly tough foght to judge, carbon copies of each other.

Always the way that you get a stand up fight when ya get two high level wrestlers

That eye poke was intentional by the looks of things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 736 ✭✭✭Doff

    Colby with the DC special.

Funny, DC has been criticizing everything Colby does yet remained dead silent on that.

Learned a few things while rooming with Jon Jones it seems.

    Broken jaw my hoop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 736 ✭✭✭Doff

Maybe he said that so Usmans corner would advise him to go for headshots instead of the body. Some of that MAGA 4D chess.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Still Ill

Who predicted no take downs after four?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,056 ✭✭✭darced

    I have Colby 3-1?

  • Registered Users Posts: 705 ✭✭✭al87987

Really good fight. Draw so far

Fcuk off Goddard the worst ref in history, dying to stop it.

Woohoo, well done Usman and I had the ko at 5/1. Not after timing, put it up in the gambling thread.

Off to the WWE with you.

You sure you're not a WWE fan yourself? You certainly sound like one.

Great fight. Credit to both. That 45 seconds before that knockdown won the fight, Usman upped it when Colby was winning the decisive round.

    Stoppage was fine

How funny would it be if Usman pissed hot now.

He'll be whinging for weeks about this.

Absolute the correct decision from Goddard to stop it.

I don't think it was even close anyways, I thought Usman won the first four rounds. I don't know what the commentators were at saying it was close.

He won 2, 3,4, and was winning 5.
Colby won round 1, if only for volume.

    What fight were you watching?

which of the arm punches to the armpit did you feel forced the stoppage?

    You're crazy. 2-2 at best.

I can see why you would say that but it was volume versus power and I thought the power punches from Usman won the round. The difference in punches thrown wasn't that great either.

The unwillingness to defend himself from hammer fists while trying not hug a knee after being dropped lost it for him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 736 ✭✭✭Doff

One judge had 3-1 Colby with him winning the 5th
    One judge had 3-1 Usman
    One judge had 2-2

  • Registered Users Posts: 705 ✭✭✭al87987

My stream cut out when they announced the judges scorecards, anybody get them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 663 ✭✭✭MidlanderMan

Joe Rogan having a solid rant tonight about how stupid the judges are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,934 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Just as I was posting there I heard the judges scores, obviously gone as corrupt as boxing now. The Aldo decision earlier being another example and I've seen these odd decisions in many UFC events of late.

Yeah. And any judge who called it a draw or for CC is clearly fecking incompetent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Still Ill

Anyone who thinks that was a bad stoppage is delusional. WP Goddard.

Great fight, not what I expected at all.

I don't agree man, a great fight like that deserves a solid conclusion, no one was in danger, let it run.
