Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surely all of you Glenda fans know the Johnny Ronan stories (plural). .....?

    The rumble in Ranelagh.

No dance off makes a mockery of what is a well produced show for RTE. Even when they get something right they mess it up.

Not relevant for me ... imo, she should not have been eliminated

I agree she shouldn’t have been eliminated based solely on her performance, but if you’re going solely on performance Aidan and Mairead would not have won their respective series.

Fr. Ray and Michael Carruth are an embarrassment to the show dancing wise.

Watched it last night for the first and last time. It lacked atmosphere. No live band, or if there was one, I didn’t see it.
Glendas dance did nothing for me. Dancing by numbers.
The best dancers rarely win. It’s an entertainment show.

Glenda's dance was awful. Not the worst dance but it was still awful. The usual self-indulgent nonsense from Robert so at least we'll be spared him for the rest of the series.
Michael and Ray are utterly dire though. Hopefully they'll be on the chopping block next.

As a matter of interest, do any posters actually vote? I tend to vote as the series progresses.

Edit: also, regarding a live band/orchestra, two main reasons: firstly there's not enough room I think. The studio is quite right for space as it is. Secondly, it would raise the budget by a substantial amount.

I think Lottie is amazing. Whether you have a background or not it takes a lot of work to get those dances right. I’m really enjoying it this year. Annoyed Glenda was eliminated though.

Regarding them having a live band.
In the past I have viewed different countries DWTS and they all seen to have just a backing tracking.

Only another ten weeks to go.

What would you rather be watching on a Sunday night ?

would'nt attempt to watch it, just fed up hearing about it , in every paper and magazine ,

How Fr Ray & Michael Carruth are both still in the competition baffles me. Surely one of them will go next week, if not it will be whoever is third from last that will go as what happened to both Yewande and Glenda. I think Grainne will be in trouble, models do terribly on DWTS.

Regarding the winner, so far it would appear to be between Sinead O'Carroll, Ryan Andrews and Lottie Ryan but don't underestimate Aidan Fogarty, I have a feeling he could be the dark horse and win like Aidan O'Mahoney in S1.

Dee Forbes will barely agree to them doing it one week!

But are they not actual already employed full time and well paid by RTE?

If so, I don’t see why a few of them could not be drafted in each week? I doubt every single member of their orchestra are performing else where each Sunday?

Open to correction on all of the above.

I agree but these shows are far more about popularity and entertainment than dancing - hence why the two lads are still in it. It’s also got everyone talking about it and people will watch to see how bad they are.

I think Ryan, Aidan and Siena’s for the final. Lottie is a great dancer but she’s a trained dancer and a lot haven’t seemed to take to her.

Brian Redmond was dragged up on stage at the Strictly Live Tour last night. He was in the audience and was called up at a "teach the Audience routine". He did well, seemed to know Craig.

There's no episode next Sunday due to the results of the General Election.
Instead it will air on Saturday the 8th at 18:35 until 20:40
It's switch up week and nobody will be eliminated!

Well thats going to endear her to the public. The judges may save her from all dance off's but she certainly hasnt a hope of winning now.

There's something quite coarse about her, she could start by taking most of the gick off her face.

This must be the sentimental episode.

I think Laura Nolan is a total ride.

    How is that for sentiment?

    Claiming she didn't dance much?

Indo article from 10 years ago... " Since the age of six she had trained as a dancer with the intention of going professional.

"That was what I was supposed to do," she says. "I wanted to professionally dance. I spent years doing everything, five, six days a week. I did everything, bar Irish dancing -- ballet, contemporary, jazz. I focused on hip hop, because I knew I wanted to do commercial dancing," she reflects, revealing her natural practicality.

Then, in sixth year, her lifelong dream was brought to an abrupt halt. "There were a couple of incidents; the student visa for America was turning out to be a bit of a nightmare, I got a bad injury in my hip. I ended up going, 'Crap, better fill out the CAO actually seriously,'" she recalls."
