Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Which model did you go for and did you get the ‘12 week’ guess-timated delivery time?

Went for the tech trim. Yeah she mentioned “12 weeks” but so your talking august I’d say

I’m hearing 12 weeks from all dealers, nice trim the Tech, all the goodies 😀😀😀

Fingers crossed. How are people tracking their orders?

Hassling the dealer is the only good method

You can get the commission number from the dealer and enter it into the myVolkswagen page online. When you have a VIN it means your car is being built

Can still take some time from that point to arrive, I'm still waiting on mine and I'd say it was built 3-4 weeks ago

So I got my SEAI EV grant number today, anyone have any idea what that means in terms of delivery schedule? I'm guessing it must be getting close :)

Got a week 29 build week for a tech trim, but that was from the dealer, so a july build for an august delivery

I got the grant approval number straight after ordering, you cant claim the ev charger grant until you have the reg of the car etc but its good for 6 months. Just means you can sort the home charger before getting the car i guess.

edit: unless the EV grant number is something else

I asked and got this shortly after ordering too, I was a bit eager and got my home charger installed in plenty of time. But if you didnt ask for it before I would think the dealer must be getting the last bits ready for handover?

I already got the home charger grant so I didn't need the EV grant number, hence why I didn't ask for it

Hopefully it means the paperwork is getting sorted out for the handover

If you are applying for the EV home charge point grant you must not start any work prior to approval, part of the declaration the RECI must sign off on is whether there was a charge point installed prior to grant/work carried out.

Yep, I meant that I got the ev grant number to apply for the home charger grant. That was approved and then I had the charger installed, so just waiting for the car now before I can claim it

I can get 500km range in my ID4. Av speed was 86km/hr. Road was dry, 18 degrees outside. You wouldn't drive it like that everyday but it is achievable. Didn't use heater or A/C.

Yeah around 86 seems to be the sweet spot on that little blue green bar on the dash

First long distance spin today. From Kildare to Cork. Most of it on the motorway.
Just 22 Kwhr/hr which is fine. Would give me 350 Kms + for a full charge.
A/c turned off. Eco mode and on my own.

Hmm interesting. I was going to ask about peoples experience with range, both for long and short journeys.

I had 336km range in the car yesterday when I took a trip from Drogheda to Phoenix Park. A 102km round trip. When I got home the car was showing 194km range left. So 142km off the battery for a physical 102km distance.

I drove at 90km, using the ACC, via the M1/M50. No heater being used, In ECO and Drive mode.

I also noticed in shorter journeys that the amount of battery being used is always more than the physical distance driven. I tend to always used B mode on short journeys as they are more start/stop. But tend to find the battery reduces by a lot more than the physical distance of the journey, as in by a consistent 5/6KM. This morning I drove 12km distance and the car is reporting 20km off the range.

According to the Car Settings my averages are 14.6kwh/100km since last charge.

I don't expect a 1 for 1 per km driven versus battery use, but I certainly cant see me hitting 400km range never mind 500km

OK test drove an id4 today. Totally converted now. Looking at getting a life version 77kw in blue with no silver. Any thoughts or advise for me

For anyone having CarPlay audio stuttering problems, another ID forum suggests the following

Try deactivating the search for new wifi networks on the ID.3/4 (Settings/Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi/Search for Wi-Fi).

Some people are having success with this, I'm going to give it a go myself later and see if it makes a difference.

Not a fair comparison though. Different weather - wind direction, speed, temperature.

    Quick question,

Is that a different shade of brown on the seats for the upcoming trims than the 1st editions?

It looks like the Platinum Grey on the first editions
Has been replaced by a darker shade called Soul.
The Florence Brown colour remains though. They do look better in the flesh though

The next trims will have the dashboard in that brown colour too and I’m a little worried that it may be too much for the interior

Weird, that's a 1st model with the brown dash. Agree though, that pic doesn't really appeal to me

Didn't even spot that the interior was going to be a little darker in the next editions. Hopefully it's not too dark in the flesh. Had assumed it was pretty much the exact same bar spec. Was even said by the dealer it would be the same.

Well spotted. I have been on fence about buying ID4. I could have lived with the brown on seats and door sides (just about) but the dash is overkill imo.

So it looks like the new trims will have the ‘play and pause’ pedals? I couldn’t see this spec on mew trim list and also doesn’t appear in the images for the new interior trim.

There seems to be a contradiction between the brochure and the configurator .

Configurator say dash is platinum grey-soul
    Seats soul black-florence Brown
    Carpet soul black.

I've been looking at any available videos of the pro trims and the pedals don't have the play pause and I think the brown trim colour looks different on the manual Vs automatic seats.

Edit: here is a us pro vid dash I think is the same seats are not. https://youtu.be/2jg8DYR3lnM and https://youtu.be/l1B1sZqz2jo

Definitely looks more appealing in that video. Doesn’t look as orangey brown.

There’s a business edition on Carzone with the brown trim and it just looks really off.

You know I get the feeling that whoever VW is getting to do their rendering online isn't very good

Seen this happen consistently, the ID.3 turquoise was green on the website. The manganese grey looks black, the brown on the ID.4 seats looks orange, etc.

I think until you see a real like video then you just can't be sure how it'll look

I have a manganese grey ID.4 - it's more like a very dark grey or light black in reality, definitely not a light grey or silver colour so I'd agree with the above about being careful with the brochure.

Cork to Athlone via motorway, turning off at thurlas.

Motorway section, 120km/hr actual speed on the motorway.
    IMG-20210510-111119.jpg

    Full trip:
    IMG-20210510-163533.jpg

Arrived with 41% battery, and 180km on the display. Much more than expected.

Wanted to fast charge when we arrived but SOC is a bit high, and the kids were not having it.

Return leg today. 213km, 2.38hrs, 81km/hr average speed. 19kWh/100km. Impressed

You were not too far off a 400km range with that spin in the return leg. 81kmh average would be pretty standard for most. Impressed with this figures... thanks for sharing

Drove back this evening. Comfort mode, 125 Km/hr on the motorway with A/C on and it averaged 22.6 kwhr/100kms. So only about 0.7 more than the Eco mode. That’s just under 200 kms on the motorway. 240 kms total.
Happy with the usage and driving it is very enjoyable.

Actually on the equipment list on the myVW page it says "
Pedals in stainless steel, with play and pause symbols" so maybe.

Going to order a life version tomorrow. We can't decide on the magnesium grey or the blue.
Won't be adding the sliver trim for 719.
Any one seen the blue in realty

Yep, seen it close up and had a good look. It’s an absolutely cracking colour, this has the black roof so may look slightly different to the Life model you ordered but a really really nice colour.

I ended up going for the manganese grey(it’s just a shade or two off black) with the silver trim. The blue is beautiful but ended up going for the manganese just to play it safe.

I have checked the configurator. All i can see is brown and silver dash. Really hope to be corrected. Serious lack of choice on such a pricey car.

Also did I see it's only a 1 year warranty?
