The snow is all melted on exposed slopes but surprisingly there is a “decent” amount remaining on other areas.

Local microclimate. It was actually almost snowing up there, which was unexpected.

Think that’s it for the snow now. Had the warm sector not materialised we would be in a totally different situation right now.

It really went downhill after the snow shower last night. Today is one of those wretched days. Of course if conditions were ripe for snow it likely wouldn't feel this raw out.

It's a beautiful winters day in Galway.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Sleet about 230 as we headed out to the beach. Turned out a lovely day in North kerry with a bracing wind.

Just looking at my temp data for yesterday evening, and noticed there was a sharp drop (by as much as 3c) between 10.05pm and 10.20pm, that occurred right at the time of that sharp thundery trough which pushed down over at the time:

So defo some sort of cold front, given the curious gradual warming that occurred in the hours beforehand.

The wind is no longer due north; some west in it and the sound is different. But abitter night ahead.

    West Mayo.

Sure do, drive North of the county and we get snow every year. Microclimates at play up here, could be as much as 4 degrees in temp difference between the hills and the city

Is that supposed to be a dig?

Wednesday looking quite cold. Freezing level of around 400 metres which should guarantee low level snow.

And appears to be snow showers on the north coast where I live. (Maybe).

Not at all, it's just some of the photos are a prime candidate for the "guess the car" section .
Anyway off topic , nevermind enjoy the weather.
